    Dear MRA Team,

In most countries there are several well-known routes — for example, in the UK we have the NC500 and many others. There are also many published routes available online or in guidebooks, such as Britain’s Best Biking Roads.

It would be a great benefit to the community if these popular routes were added into the MRA system, making them easier for everyone to find and enjoy.

Although i like the idea and i fully understand your idea behind this, but... Here we go, there's always a but 😉

How many routes are there in the UK alone? 100? 1000? 5000 perhaps???

And what about Germany for example? How many routes do you think are there available online for Germany??? Not mentioning other countries

And how many routes are basically the same but with a different file name or route description??

In other words, adding all those sites with routes sounds like a great idea, but how do you want to check if there are no duplicates? And what about the number of routes? It will be too much!

If i go the the RouteXpert library and search for a certain area, i get a lot of routes starting/ending in that specific area which overwhelms me a bit. What would happen when you add all those other routes as well published online as in books? You get even more overwhelmed! And there would just too many routes to pick from.

And besides that, who is going to check if all these routes are correctly made? That really will be a monk's work!

What also will be a monk's work is transferring all those routes published in (travel) books in MRA. How many time will you spent on that per day/week/month? And how many books are there with routes? And you need to check it if there are no duplicates.

I like the idea, but i don't support it as such. It's too much work to transfer/integrate everything in MRA.

And beside that, the idea of MRA is to create your own route separately from any (travel)books or online routes. Youi can use bits and pieces from existing routes but basically the idea is to create your own to add up to the fun and joy of riding your motorbike and ride beautiful scenery's! That's my opinion ofcourse 😉

@F-Nick, copyright? I don't think tour book writers would welcome their routes to be distributed freely...

I am just an enthusiastic MRA user, and hope you will be one too!

I think some research will get you what you want, but you have to put some effort in yourself to search and import the routes.

          A few examples:
          https://www.ride.co.uk/routes-content/north-coast-500
          And generally:
          https://www.ride.co.uk/routes

          Or here:
          https://www.bennetts.co.uk/bikesocial/news-and-views/features/travel/what-are-the-best-motorcycle-routes-in-the-uk

          https://www.simonweir.co.uk/
Probably the best curated routes. They aren't expensive, and I'm sure he'll appreciate the income to write the next book.

          Variable quality, but still useful:
          https://www.bestbikingroads.com/
The links to open maps and download the GPX files aren't as obvious as they should be, but they are there.

@F-Nick The NC500, The SWC300 (South West Coastal 300) The NE250 (North East 250) The Kintyre 66 are the iconic routes in Scotland and also The Grand Tour P.E.N.I.S 287 should maybe be included.
There is also the Northumberland 250 and Snowdonia 360.

All of these UK routes are in the RouteXpert library along with countless European and North American iconic routes.

Always willing to help if I can.

@Nick-Carthew Please... do NOT make a type in your internet search ie, do NOT forget the "7" in the route name, starting with P. Otherwise, you don't get curvy roads, but slippery roads 🙈
