Anroid Mobile Phone and Rain, Display Problems
-
Hello. I bought a cheap Huawei P30 Pro, IP68 in very good condition. Today I showered with my cell phone and found that water drops are recognized by the display and the cell phone is going crazy.
Does anyone have any experience? Think an APP which activates and blocks inputs after a preset time would be the solution.I'm looking forward to your experiences, Andoid Devices, or Android Apps.
I have an old Garmin 595 as backup but my go is to travel just with MRA on Android
Thanks! lg Kudee

@Kudee I’ve never heard of such behaviour before, and haven’t experienced it myself. Might having the phone in a waterproof case help?
-
@Kudee The TomTom screens have an adjustable sensitivity button because they can be affected by rain. Maybe Huawei should introduce it to their phones. Apple iPhones have no problem like this.

With so many navigation apps, I knew I couldn't be the only one with this problem. Here from the Kurviger Forum. I have now installed Touch Protect and it seems to do the job https://forum.kurviger.de/t/app-avoid-ghost-input-in-rain/2132/6

@Kudee, I have the same phone, and experienced the same problem when I had a chopper. Since I changed it for an FJR this is no problem anymore That Touch Protect App is a good catch. Could help a lot of people.

@Con-Hennekens Ui, you have the same phone? I'm afraid that the camera's optical image stabilizer could be damaged by vibrations. How long have you been using the P30Pro?
-
@Kudee I use a Quadlock mount with their anti vibration dampener system - superb piece of kit and no problems with camera breaking.
-
@Nick-Carthew @Kudee Same here! I utilize the SP Connect system with their anti vibration module en so far no problems yet.

It's about 2 years old, but I am not a very frequent driver. I use an X-Grip and make sure the back of the phone does not touch the core of X-Grip. So my phone is hanging in the rubber fingers of it.
