I like the app’s ability to synchronise routes, not least because I prefer to ride / drive in offline mode.

For assorted reasons I don’t want to synchronise my entire library. What I do now is create a separate folder for my trip and copy the routes I want to synchronise into it. I then synchronise each route individually. This is fine.

I would though like to be able to select the folder and have the app synchronise all the routes held in it in one go. In other words, something beteeen ‘Synchronise all routes’ and ‘Synchronise an individual route’

Question 1: Is it possible to synchronise a folder of routes? If yes, then how?

Question 2: If it’s not possible, might the ability be made possible in the future?

    Many thanks,

    Richard

Not a high priority because we don’t see why users wouldn’t just synchronise everything

...agreed with you Corjan - it's much more easy/convenient to have all your route synched.
BUT: if there are lot of routes in many folders - it would be verry helpful if there would be a search option for routes (like in MRA routeplanner)... 😉

There is on the homescreen of the app:

            • press the looking glass
            • enter searchstring
            • press button "Routes"

@corjan-meijerink I can give a reason why a user would not want to sync everything

if an app update requires a complete re-login & resync of a users entire library of thousands of routes this can take an extremely long time
likewise for a large library if I use a new device syncing can take a lot of time

being able to selectively sync certain folders when required is I think a decent compromise

Navigate "Routes as Tracks" in Offline mode with Offline Maps
No Wifi, no internet, no interruptions, works well

I doubt that… and what if it does? How often does a resync of all your routes have to take place? Can’t you leave your phone for a couple of minutes?

I didn’t intend to start World War Three, over the synchronisation (or not) of entire libraries.

As the owners of the excellent MyRoute have said that the synchronisation will (for the foreseeable future) be limited to either:

                    A. A single route or groups of single routes, selected by the owner individually

                    Or

                    B. The owner’s entire library

                    That’s good enough for me.

As to why I prefer to synchronise only the routes I have created for the jaunt I am on, but not my entire library…. I just prefer to do it that way.

The Question is valid and i can see why. But there 2 reasons why i go with the other people.
The first synchronisation can be long. After that it is just seconds.
The discspace needed for al the routes is minimal. The maps takes a lot more space.

For my last Holiday i created a group. I put al my routes for that holiday in that group. Easy to find and easy to select. One drawback. Groups are not synched so you internet access to start the route.

The option to only synchronise individual routes is available. But is less obvious then you might think.
                      1.
Select a route. In the little black (or white, depends on your phones theme) optionscreen that follows. Press on the 3 dots.
                      2.
                      Select synchronize.

(I use MRA Next only on Android Auto. Every comment, suggestion, etc will be based on my usage with Android Auto)

@Corjan-Meijerink, while I agree with you, I must say that following your own logic it is very strange to be able to sync individual routes... 😉 If syncing individual routes is a sensible feature, syncing individual folders also is, for the same reasons. If I am not mistaken, syncing folders was actually possible at the introduction of the the sync feature.

I am just an enthusiastic MRA user, and hope you will be one too!

Just created some routes for a friend and placed them in a map and they sync pefect to my phone. I must admit the list off routes is getting very long even i use a lot off maps to sort them. I keep my root directory clean. When i want to use a ride i place it in the root directory of MRA so i always can find it easy. But maybe a option which route a want to sync isn't a bad idee.

R1250GS. Started with a Zumo 550, BMW nav IV, Carpe-iter and now Chigee met MRA app.
