Hello
Could you make it automatic to switch online and then offline when I do map updates?
Thanks -

Thanks@Alliston This seems to me to be an unnecessary feature. You do a map update mainly in your home situation, and I would never do it while on the road during a trip. When you're at home, you're always online, right? Doing a map update while on your trip is unnecessary and risky because you're never completely sure that everything will go well. If you're on the road during a nice trip, that's a no-brainer. For what it's worth...

Okay Rob, agree map updates are done at home, but why do you have to switch back to offline, if you forget and your on your bike, the only way to do it if you are using carplay is to stop, get your phone out and turn it off.
I really like the offline option while following routes, is it a hard thing to change the functionality? -
It depends on how often you check for map updates. I do that at most 1 or 2 times per year. Those updates aren't that exciting, especially not for the roads that are known as scenic and that we all like to ride. Or do you check weekly if there are updates?

At the moment I'm checking twice a month, as I prepare for different riding trips, picking different country maps.

Just to put some perspective on how important map updates are - TomTom release 4, world map updates for their navigation devices per year.
Yes updates are important, but the risk of an update affecting one of your routes is very small.

Okay, I will just have to remember to switch to offline mode, thanks for the feedback.
