Tested on two different smartphones and two different Android Auto systems. As soon as the app starts running, the program crashes.

My First impressions:

Works as expected on Phone devices: iPhone 14 And Samsung A14 when usted directly

Today, i connected Samsung A14 to Android Auto (Citroën C3 Aircross) And app start works on free ride mode but after 300 meters map freezes on AA and also on phone.

I kill my route and restart it again, but this time map and App freezes after GPS Positioning.

I change device connected to IPhone 14, And app works fine in free ride, no matter what i use on Carplay, (change app, audio settings, whatsapp messages) And having Phone screen on or off.

So, with this little use, my First impressions is that something is wrong on Android auto with Free ride mode.

I'll try more use on car. On motorbike, using Phone directly, works as good as all of us wants.

@Lluis-Arasanz sad to say that it's the same on my end.
Once Android Auto is connected to my phone both phone and AA freeze up.
When I force the closing of the app and start again while being connected to AA both freeze instantly.
Bij navigation is possible.
At home killing the app again and then restarting the app only on the phone inside my house, the app seems to work.

Let's look on the bright side - if the position is not updated, the map at least is not spinning (my attempt to solve that was the cause for this problem. Now I'm still attempting to stop the spinning while not breaking Android Auto)

Today i could confirm again than android device freezes when connecting to AndroidAuto. iPhone works fine in all kind of routing or free drive.

Android auto, if last navigation app is MRA, even if I kill app before connecting to AA, freezes on AA and become freezes on device when I try to start on phone.

Free drive and AA are not friends

Normally, we always break something different when trying to update or resolve a bug. Is Developers first rule of thumb: works? Don’t touch it!

@Corjan-Meijerink today I did Some extra testing. The results:
Using only my Android phone everything works like clockwork.
Using my Android Tablet. Exactly the same. Free drive and navigating ok
The combination of my phone and Android Auto in my car The app freezes on both the phone and my AA screen and makers them totaly not usable. Rebooting both results in the same freeze
My conclusion: there’s serious problem with the current AA version. I Hope and know you will fix it

@Corjan-Meijerink Update received. Tested at home with Android Auto. Apparently it doesn’t crash. Tomorrow I’ll do a real on-the-road test. Thanks!!
