Hi everyone!

A little over two weeks have passed since our major v5 update
This amazing milestone for our app surpassed our expectations given the tremendous positive feedback, seeing issues from the past staying there and nice words from our users about the new interface

Was it completely free of issues? Definitely not.
Did we expect that? Definitely not.

After extensive Alpha & Beta testing a release implies a major increase in usage over a very wide range of different devices. Therefore quite some critical issues were discovered and a lot of small issues which are solved in this update!

Disappearing keyboard issue
Definitely the most frustrating issue of the past weeks. Both iOS and Android users reported an issue where the keyboard would immediately close when it opened. On for example searching in the home screen or editing the tracklog name. After the keyboard closed, the displayed home screen was even not functioning properly. When you install 5.0.1, this issue won't appear again!

Android no map displayed (on older versions)
Some older Android devices using mainly versions <= 14 had weird issues where the map would not be displayed properly after resuming the app or when opening the account page / routes and tracks page. This issue is quite complex and the bottomline isn't the best news as old Android versions will slowly but surely reach an incompatible state.

For these older Android devices we cannot guess the correct configuration anymore so we allow you to configure quite advanced settings! For Android only and only <= 14 we show an additional button at the bottom of the map settings (the settings that show when you tap the map layers icon on the home screen).

Try a combination of settings that work for you. Even if you are on an older Android but do not experience issues, I'd recommend not changing these settings. Our FAQ manual will be modified with further information about these settings. If you have any questions, simply contact us.

App not loading
Some users experienced an issue where the app would not launch correctly a second time (mostly Android). The issue that caused this to happen, has been resolved

Audio stability
We resolved an issue for Android Auto where the first part of sentences were quite often not pronounced. Also a possible cause for audio instructions being broken at some point has been identified and fixed.

Audio delay configuration option
Audio is quite complex as it can be heard through so many different devices. A car head unit, bluetooth devices on on device speakers. Sometimes you might therefore need a longer delay before the actual instruction is spoken. We now allow you to configure your own delay. If you miss the first phrases of a sentence or feel the audio is spoken too quickly when your music still needs to be dimmed, simply increase this duration. Obviously you will find the setting where all audio settings are

Offline behavior
We improved the general app functionalities when you don't have internet. When you access a function but don't have internet it will ask if you want to go offline. Rather than going offline permanently (like you do when enabling the setting) it will now temporarily go offline.

If you want guaranteed offline functionality, you still need to manually enable that feature. If our app detects you don't have internet it will only temporarily switch you to the offline mode.

When the wifi / network settings of the phone change we automatically check if you still have internet and inform you correspondingly. All together these changes improve the experience of the app when you don't have internet. Do note: when switching to offline, you do need some offline maps

Minor changes

• Limit routes to show 2000 POI's
• Altitude now shown in feet for users with imperial preference
• Added warning when using satellite maps in offline mode (those always require internet)
• Improved interaction with bluetooth controllers
• Prevent accidental screen interactions while navigating
• Textual improvements
• Android: not showing green / yellow border around app when using bluetooth controller
• Android: app not restarting anymore when connecting / disconnecting bluetooth controllers

To temper expectations of some of us
This is about minimum and maximum altitudes in the tracklog statistics.
No, there is no altitude being displayed while navigating...

Excellent update, will test once my iPhone received it, as I had issues when my internet connection was lost, which is, unfortunately here at the border to the Netherlands all time the case

It's good to have a working keyboard again after the 5.0.1 update, and I am enjoying all the new added features of the recently upgraded App.

I have a compass question though. When using the "MRA Routerplanner" and the map gets rotated a compass icon appears and tapping this icon re-positions the map to north upwards. That is a real useful feature, but it is not there when using the "Destination" (point A to B) map. Just curious if this is design decision of MRA or if I have a problem with my particular phone that is causing the missing compass.

@Terry-Baker, I assume you are talking about the main screen on which also the menu is visible? In that case, yes, the map orientates North when you tap the compass. If you want to further discuss this, it's better to create a new topic in the correct category.

@Con-Hennekens - Thanks for the reply. I was referring to the map when "Destination" is selected from the main menu. A compass is not available to me on that map as it is on the other maps (opening main screen map, in-app "MRA Routeplanning" map). I was just asking if that is normal or if I have a problem with my particular phone.
