route calculation when internet connection is lost

I just experienced that route calculation is not possible when I lose connection to the internet, although I have downloaded offline maps, the MyRoute app is not switching to offline mode. I started an unplanned A2B navigation, and the route was calculated, however, I seem to have missed a turn, then lost the signal. The app turned to route calculation but was not able to calculate any new route.
I have turned off offline route calculation at the functions menu, because I understand, that turning this setting on, will always use offline mode and no longer use traffic information, constructions zones or traffic jam information, am I wrong?

A route A2B is only possible with route calculation offline for the fastest connection.
