re joining route mid way ?
-
I was in spain this week and used the nav app for the first time
I missed a turn and the app lost all of its information (next turn, arrival time etc) although still showed the map and a blue line for the route
why did it do this ? I have auto recalculation set to "on"
I had to end out of the route and start again, but I had "join at nearest waypoint" on
my route was waypoint 1 and the end waypoint and the route set with shaping points, so it took me back the start waypoint, I had to work out the next shaping point and skip all the points before it so I could continue
if I turn this off would it have joined at the nearest point on the route ?
-
Starting from the nearest point on the route should work. Or a long press on the shaping point that you desire
-
A long press on any route point will skip all previous route points, it doesn’t have to be a shaping point.

thanks
I didnt know about the long hold on the shaping point feature, it is a work around
but I still dont know why I lose all of the information on the screen and the route is still shown, there is only shaping point at the top left with a circle around it from memory, what does it mean ?
i didnt actually take a wrong turn the first time this happened, I just passed a shaping point on a road with no junctions and it it suddenly went wrong

The next waypoint or upcoming waypoint is shown in the top right, this can be either a shaping point or via point. Tap this to skip and then tap yes to confirm or long press to skip without confirming.

all that detail disappeared, all I could see was the map with the blue line of the route and the odd looking symbol in the top left
no arrival times or turn instructions

@Douglas-E-Reid was there a circle symbol at the top left? Indicates that the app was recalculating.

This sounds like the offroad symbol (something with a tree in it)... Your current location was probably uncharted on the map? The app goes in offroad mode and cannot calculate a new suggestion until on a charted road again.
