App very laggy
-
Hello, I am using since Yesterday a new Ulefone Armor 16 X with Android 15. The app is sometimes very slow and when I move the map to check the route it is not moving for 2 seconds. Also the name of the next turning point is stuttering while moving. All other apps are fluently moving without lagg (osmand, dmd, Maps). No issue at all. Does somebody else face similar issues? The phone is great and very bright hence a good solution for decent use. I am on the latest app version. Regards Thomas

Same happened to me, you can check the post. No fix for this for now .... -

Hello Adrian, I think I have the same issue. Hope 4.5.0 will fix it or another version. I tried all modes, online and offline. Same thing.

Again, just to balance this conversation, I use an iPhone 11 and I see no lag at all. With very few users reporting the same problem on this topic or the other similar topic https://forum.myrouteapp.com/topic/9580/stuttering-menu-after-4.4.0-update/33?_=1753869747767
it really doesn't seem to be a widespread problem. That's not to say it doesn't warrant looking at though. -

I have opened a ticket, sent logs, videos and the developers email me saying they don't know why this is happening.... -
I tried it at my Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 3. Here the same app version works well, no laggs just ok. But the other device really has a issue. It looks like the CPU/GPU is overloaded for whatever reason. I hope that dev's could look into it. Maybe its related to Android 15? Personally I really like the app and get used to it. But there are quite often draw backs with the (my) user experience which really convince me to use it as a "daily driver". Thomas

@Thomas-Neumeyer I tried on Samsung S24 Ultra with Android 15, on Samsung S22 with Android 14, and on a Motorola Thinkphone with Android 14, and on my iPhone 13 but all the Android phones have the same issue after 4.4.0 update.
I have downgraded the S24 Ultra to 4.3.9 which works perfectly (with other issues) but no lag and no crashing. -
OK, Samsung seems not to be the problem, since ich use a galaxy tab active 5 without any problems.
Do you think it would be helpful to tell the community your setup?
This list is a first step to do that.
And this appendix:[ ] Have you stopped and restarted the MRA app? [ ] It's best to close it completely, long press on the app icon, info, exit, follow up with yes. [ ] Have you uninstalled and reinstalled the app? [ ] Have you restarted your smartphone?

I downgraded to 4.3.9. All good now, at least the app performs like it has been performing before.

Have you stopped and restarted the MRA app? yes
It's best to close it completely, long press on the app icon, info, exit, follow up with yes. closed completlyHave you uninstalled and reinstalled the app? yesHave you restarted your smartphone? yesDowngrade to 4.3.9 done. No lagg's. But this is not the solution I assume.
-
Did you follow the questions / instructions in the first and longer part of the list, mentioned first?

I am not sure if this will help. It is just fact that 4.4.0 is not working proper on the device but 4.3.9 does. At least no lagg's.

tomorrow i will use MRA Next on my ulefone x10 and i will see if i have same problem. as backup i have alternative app and take my garmin xt.

Let us know your experience. Thanks for testing.

We indeed are clueless why some Android phones have an issue with the specific app version. The issue is caused by the Flutter engine that needs to render stuff.
The issue is definitely not consistent for the device / Android version (confirmed by us and other users). We do hope another update with a new Flutter version will solve it.

Hello Corjan, thanks for your feedback. Appreciated. Hopefully you find a solution. So far I work with the previous version. I can not resist to ask what are the next big things wich might come this year
? Some improvement with "not" routing/tracking screen?
Kind regards Thomas

We are expecting to release a major UI / UX overhaul in October.
The app will be a complete new experience.
Hopefully beta testing for that will start in September. With the changes made then, the "not" routing/tracking screen will be tackled.

Thanks Corjan!
