I'm using myroute silver and myroute navigation app. When I open a saved route in the navigation app, I have to decide Route or Track.

I usually prefere, driving the exact track, planned before, but I sometimes decide, driving some other roads when nessesary. Is it better to decide Route or Track, when sometimes I do not reach every waypoint, because I decide to take another road and want to be navigated back to the planned track?

      Sorry about my English.

Thanks a lot and best regards
      Achim

@aro59 if you use a track there will be only a start and finish. If you use a route, MRA will make a route using the info in the file.
I would use the route since you’ve created the route yourself, thus giving MRA the chance to use it’s full power

        Honda Silverwing GL 650
DMD2 T865X 8 inch Android tablet using MRA next for navigation
Garmin XT (almost in the cupboard)
Samsung S20FE mounted on a Quadlock and using Android Auto in my car

@aro59 Besides the information from Marinus, it's also the case that deviating from the track currently still results in you being sent back to the point where you left the track. In the future, you will be directed straight to the endpoint, which means you may be presented with a completely different route (the fastest route to the endpoint) than you initially expected.

@aro59 I recommend also to use always the route. 👍

            iPhone 12 pro (iOS 17.0.2)
            Oukitel RT3 (Andr. 12)

track is usefull when there is no support of here. that can be offroad, unknown roads, walking pads or other situation. remember that MRA Next will still try to make a route (blue line) but the track will be the white line.

if you ride on a track there is no real support to get back to the track so you have to go back to white line with your own skills.

even when you are back on white line (track) it takes something 2 or 3 times of recalculation to get blue line back on track...

my advice is try to use route.

I am not sure where you got that, or you are probably mistaken about it. As far as I know, going straight to the finish was what happened in the past. Going back to the place where you left off is meant to be an improvement on that. In the future 😉 I hope that it will be so that you are send back to the point where you left off PLUS the track will pick up again wherever you hit it. That gives you the possibility to drive around any roadworks or whatever, and navigation will continue where you rejoin the track.

                  @Con-Hennekens, to reply to myself:

The above message (that I can't seem to edit anymore) is true, but of course only in case of track-navigation.

While navigating an A2B route (destination with straight line option, you will be guided to the finish quickest way without being lead back, in a future version like @Rob-Verhoeff mentioned. The current version tries to get you back to route, which many people were not satisfied with. So it will be changed some time.

Thanks a lot. So in my case, it would be best to chose "Route" and wait till the new version in out. Does anyone know, when the new version will be out?

@aro59, only one person does, and I think it is too soon to say 😉
