bmw-navigator-vi-loses-waypoints-between-start-and-finish (bis)

I have the latest version of Routelab installed on a windows machine. I have a recent BMW Navigator VI
I have read all the related topics in this forum and do not find an answer that works for me...
After exporting a route to my device, I never see any waypoint when a start a route on my Navigator (only start and finish).
I have consulted all documentation, seen the instruction video (which shows another behavior as I see, it do show waypoints). Is it possible to make a step by step instruction (or video) that shows exactly what to do in order to get the waypoints visible on a BMW Navigator VI?
Thanks in advance for any help,
Danny

@mylle I would find this very useful as well. I thought that I'd sorted it by changing waypoints to Viapoints but when downloading to a Navigator V sometimes it retains the Viapoints and other times it doesn't and I've no idea why!!

Use the Garmin Zumo .gpx 1.1 via the connector

I think I found one of the reasons of confusion....
If you follow exactly the instruction movie, you run into troubles/confusion....- The video starts with an example travel, with only route points on it (the blue numbered little circles), however the instructor call them "waypoints", they are not (yet). In order to make it a waypoint, you have to click on it and change it to a waypoint...
However, as by magic, in the video they are converted to waypoints after downloading... - once you have your travel, with a number of real "waypoints", the video explains how to export it with the connector, that is ok. But then, once it is downloaded to your device, the device (in this case the Navigator VI) is asking you if you want to import it to the "TRIP Planner". If you say "yes", as the video shows, then it will create your trip in the trip planner including ALL THE WAYPOINTS YOU HAVE CREATED, and they are visible on your device if you start the trip. This does NOT appear in the video.
The video continues by instructing you to go to the "tracks" and select the created travel (preceded with TRACK-travel name), and convert it to a "trip". If you do that, it will create a trip WITHOUT THE WAYPOINTS you have created. In fact, you end up with two trips, one with the waypoints, and one without them...
I think reason for confusion is the nomenclature... Trip, route, track etc... are used in a non consistent way in the different docs/movies, and yes, also in the forum...
Maybe it would be useful to add a list of all the used terms, and add an explanation for each of them, I know, they are explained in the different docs (ad hoc), but a one page list with all of them would be useful:
Track=
Trip=
Route=
Routepoint=
Waypoint=

@mylle I have had the same problem for a few days now, which I have never had before.
Every route (already created in the last 3 years, or new) give the same result: instead of Start WP+ 20 intermediate WP + end WP, in the NAVI VI I always see the start + end WP...
I tried them all: I used all possible connectors (gpx 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, BMW Mororbike ...), and I also tried the "save as" option and then manually copied the .gpx file into the GPX directory of the Navigator VI, and then turned the track into a route in the Navi.
No errors, never, but I always had the same result: map displayed correctly but only the two wayPoints, the start and the finish.
Then yesterday I was able to make one last attempt: I borrowed another Navigator VI from a friend, who unlike me hadn't made any updates for at least a year.
And ... everything worked fine!
The same map that on my Navi only showed Start and End, on his it showed all the intermediate waypoints ...
So I came to the conclusion that, at least in my case, the last update made introduced something that no longer allows you to convert the route received from MRA correctly.
And I say this because I also did another test: I connected the two Navigators to my PC, then I took the map correctly imported into my friend's Navi and copied it to my Navi.
Upon startup, my Navi warned me that it had found a new route and if I wanted to import it.
I said yes, and everything worked perfectly, so I could see all the WPs in my Navi as well.
So, at least in my case, it's something at the Navigator level ...
No the question is...how can I solve this...? I have already tried to perform a master reset on my Navi... but nothing changed... -
@mylle
new episode in my waypoint journey.
I'm back to the point that it did not display my waypoints... I do exactly as I described in my previous reply, but it simply does not work anymore, I'm desperate ....
Does this work for anyone?danny

@mylle BMW NAV VI only supports gpx file format 1.1 to get waypoints, so be sure to export or in this case "save as..." as the export tool last time I checked only allowed gpx 1.2.
Then when you have moved the file from PC to the navigator you import the track and then manually edit the soft blue waypoints you want into hard waypoints (orange flags).
(open travel planner, route, and change destinations, click on blue dots to change into orange flags)
