It always a good idea when navigation to have your phone mounted in the open air. This helps cooling your phone. When navigating your phone runs hot. How hot depends on the app.

@roger916, what @richard-3v said, if it is about the web planner. If it is about a route you want to start navigating in the MRA app, simply tap the drive mode, and select the drivemode you want to use. Be aware that changing drive modes potentially changes the route. Often it is better not to change it

Correct. MRA has no restriction apart from 200 waypoints (any type) total per route.

@MyZ51 said in Shaping point ignored by app: I always figured that if you designed it on the desktop and emailed the route or QR, the recipient’s app would follow your shaped route, thus overriding any settings they have in their device setup. You figured correctly, except for that not device settings are honored, but planner settings are. And of course only within the MRA ecosystem. An exported GPX does not contain any planner settings.

@Steve-Cuttell, hmm, I have never seen this behavior before. if this problem is reproducible, I would open a ticket on the support page. MRA will likely ask for a log file.

@Con-Hennekens Bananas means that the app told, route can not be calculated, tried to recalculate, route can not be calculated, tried to recalculate, route can not be calculated and so on. I stopped it then. To be honest in this situation in an area without knowing where you are this is quite let’s say bad. Even the OEM app and arrow navigation is able to recalculate. As far I remember in the live blog from the developer it was stated that it switches to offline mode automatically. But I have to admit that I am not 100 % sure. Today I navigated with a A to B navigation. Was working fine except that there were the „original“ bright blue lines to see. But not following the street just straight lines. But I am sure this can be disabled somewhere in the settings.

Yes, automatic roundtrip generators can sometimes lead to U-turns. Also when not having a break. But typically, after a break and before you drive off again, you have a great opportunity to review the route and your location relative to it. Just long-press anywhere on the blue track line (roundtrips are tracks, hence no waypoints!) to rejoin your trip there.

Followup - We had another detour today and MRA skipped several shaping points with absolutely now issue. I have no idea what the problem was the other day but my settings (as far as I know) are the same, but my Android version of MRA worked flawlessly today skipping shaping points. Now, if it could have just warned me about the closed road and the extremely slippery detour that we had to take that would be awesome!!!

The map you see immediately after opening the app, is NOT the HERE map, it's the OSM map, and is not available offline. I it does get cached in segments, but after a reboot (empty cache!) without internet connection it cannot load.

@Con-Hennekens Thanks. That's what I thought but it's good to get confirmation. I appreciate it. Steve

@F-Nick said in Offline maps and search: Issue 1. clicked offline maps in settings and the phone screen went blank! Wheres the map? Nothing. I don't know what you have been clicking, but you don't need to click anything to use offline maps. You just need to have maps downloaded of the area you driving in. You have probably enable offline navigation (which is something different). I don't know about black screens, but that is of course unusual. There was a bug in place for the 2D Here overlay map though, but that is in pre-Navigation Next mode. The OSM map you see in pre-navigation mode needs a live internet connection also. The offline HERE maps can only be used once you started navigation of a route or single destination. Issue 2. Next, went to search and it couldn’t find the point of interest - a land mark. Things like routes in your library, favorites and recents are available in search offline. Searching for company names landmarks and addresses is done in the pre-HERE Navigation Next mode of the app, and that needs a live internet connection.

@Con-Hennekens said in Wegpunkte werden übersprungen welche ich noch gar nicht erreicht habe!: The automatic skipping of waypoints is especially targeted at waypoints you did not reach. If you reach a waypoint, there would be no need to skip it . It is not fully conclusive from your screenshot, but I think you might have some large distances between your waypoints. After 5 recalculations before reaching a waypoint, the waypoint will be considered unreachable and will be skipped. If you leave a large distance between waypoints, the risc of that happening becomes larger. Especially of you stop at some location for a P or stretching legs... Gut zu wissen das auch das eine Rolle spilet !! Good to know that this also plays a role !!

@Alessandro-Parisi, what can and may be displayed by AA/CP devices is not up to MRA but to Google and Apple. They simply do not allow what they consider distracting information or UI elements. That's also the reason why most navigation apps on AA/CP look quite similar concerning the UI. So yes, the AA/CP experience will never be equal to the native app experience. That's not by design, but by limitation of Google and Apple. Your choice of licenses though is not dependent on the use of AA/CP. For navigating with the app natively, you also need Navigation Next license. The Silver or Gold is solely a web-planner license.

@MiaBal, Dit is wel héél summiere informatie... Wat doet de app wèl? Zie je de routelijn, geeft die visueel afslagen aan en zo? Misschien een screenshot van hoe je navigatie eruit ziet?
