But keep in mind by far not all phones suffer from that problem. most people when talking about power consumption seem to be basically saying - make sure your phone is plugged into a reasonably meaty charger - that way all is well. That is not how I intended any of the many comments I made But truth is that many people use far from ideal charging equipment, but do not realize that. I think at least a significant part of the users that see their phone's charge not keeping up with the battery use can be helped by better charger and better cable, that sustain the charging capabilities of modern phones. That is however by no means an excuse for the high power consumption of the app (or better said: the HERE rendering engine).

@Con-Hennekens The hour jump forwards between the UK and France might well make sense. But why would it make the map screen go grey? I meant to look to see if it did the same coming back to the UK from France but then, stupidly, forgot to run a route back to home from Calais. The good news is that, other than the greyed out screen on rolling off the Eurotunnel, the Navigation app performed perfectly. I ran it in parallel to my Garmin XT, both running the same routes, created by me in MyRoute. It performed just as well as the Garmin device.

@Josef-Lohr, The planning function in the app is not more tan an embedded view to the website. Functions like the "find hotel" are simply not developed as an in-app-feature. Devs are working on an app-native planning module that will replace the embedded web-view in due time. I can imagine that it will handle the booking.com feature much better. I can't give you an ETA though...

@siebo-vd-berg inheb @Corjan-Meijerink al een filmpje gestuurd met dit fenomeen. Blij dat ik niet de enige ben bij dit niet lekker loopt. Met de 309 is het ietsje beter maar het flikkeren blijft. Ik denk dat het iets met een foute zoom optie is.

Ik lees uit je bericht dat je 4 dingen probeert te doen. 1. Telefoon voor telefoon verkeer 2. Aparte telefoon voor navigatie 3. Garmin voor navigatie 4. FM Radio functie voor radio luisteren Je zal eerst je prioriteit moeten bepalen. De telefoon op het eerste kanaal heeft prioriteit boven alles. GPS heeft gelijke prioriteit of zit daar direct onder.Als is handleiding daat niet echt duidelijk in. Het is mij ook niet duidelijk hoeveel apparaten je tegelijkertijd gekoppeld. Sommigen zeggen dat bij Sena 3 stuks mogelijk is. De handleiding vertelt dit niet duidelijk. Dus max. 2 stuks zou ook mogelijk kunnen zijn. Als ik het nog goed herinner, gebruik je de Zumo voor de visuele navigatie en een Telefoon voor de audio navigatie (alleen de aanwijzingen). Daarom zou ik de telefoon voor navigatie als primaire telefoon koppelen. Dus op het eerste kanaal. Jouw telefoon voor telefoonverkeer of de Zumo op het tweede kanaal. Als er inderdaad een derde kanaal is. Koppel hier dan het apparaat wat je niet op tweede kanaal gekoppeld heb. Dit derde kanaal zal zeer hoogst waarschijnlijk stil blijven. Het wisselen tussen A2DP of HPF protocol voor de Zumo zou nog effect kunnen hebben. Dit is meer een gok van mijn kant. Bluetooth is al ingewikkeld genoeg. Er zijn al duizenden berichten en topics wereldwijd vol geschreven over headset en bluetooth problemen. Wat ik in de afgelopen jaren geleerd heb. Dan praat ik niet over individuele gevallen maar in algemene brede zin. 1. Hoe minder apparaten je koppelt en paired (dus opgeslagen in je headset), Hoe betrouwbaarder en stabieler de Headset werkt. 2. Mesh intercom is een belangrijke ontwikkeling geweest. Ook voor intercom tussen maar 2 personen. Het voorkomt namelijk (voor een deel) problemen bij het schakelen tussen kanalen. 3. "Audio Multitasking", "Bluetooth Bridge", Parallel/Simultanuous Tasking" zijn allemaal kreten die hun best dus om 2 bluetooth kanalen tegelijkertijd open te hebben staan. Ook een belangrijke ontwikkeling Bijv: 1e telefoon + Intercom 1e telefoon + 2e telefoon 1e telefoon + GPS. Bij Mesh intercom is er altijd "Audio Multitasking". Je ziet in mijn voorbeelden dat Multitasking dus niet met 3 kanalen werkt. Wanneer het 3e kanaal toch inbreekt, kan dit weer problemen opleveren. Of je Mesh intercom toch nog als 3e bron bovenop 2 bluetooth kanalen kan stapelen is mij niet duidelijk. 4. Apparaten met een oude bluetooth versie kunnen ook weer problemen opleveren. Alle Bluetooth versies zouden backwards compatible moeten zijn. Dus de oude Zumo 660 zou probleemloos met de meeste moderne headset moeten werken. Dat is in zekere zin ook wel zo maar gegarandeerd betrouwbaar is dit niet. 5. De implementatie van Bluetooth functionaliteit in de apparaten laten nog wel eens te wensen. Er zijn zoveel merken, modellen, bluetooth versies en bluetooth functionaliteit in omloop. Dat het gewoon niet te zeggen is of het allemaal goed met elkaar werkt. Bluetooth is mooi maar het blijft een instabiel protocol.

@Peter-Schiefer, the no2 problem also happens without any notes to be announced. Just don't place waypoints near navigational changes like crossings, roundabouts, insertion or exit strips etc.

@Marc-van-der-Linde, dat dacht ik al, maar doe je dat met de app actief op het stuur, of in je binnenzak / tanktas? In dat laatste geval verdenk ik toch echt de battery-saving functies van je toestel namelijk.
