@Rob-Verhoeff Thanks a lot, I missed that. Now I only have to consider whether or not to buy a product without having a clue where it will end up But then, that routeplanner is excellent so ...

A really, really good idea as you spend a lot of time "cleaning" your route from the annoying u-turns nobody needs. But keep in mind that lot of roads are parallel, for instance motorways and country-roads, so you need the possibility to override the magnetism or to direct it to the type of street you like to use. I'm looking forward to this feature.

@Steve-Lynch said in Are we wanting too much??: @stuart-marritt For me the Zumo XT will never recalculate for me as I place at least 1 Shaping Point on every road I want to travel on. Yes its a lot of extra work but I like to travel on the Country Lanes with the grass in the middle. But thats the thing you wont get unwanted recalculations as you have enough shaping points etc Schoolboy errors are what we are all learning from and what others will still be doing and not putting enough shaping points in And if you don't put enough in and take a turn off route and it recalculates then you could end up with a totally different route. I have also had it ignore shaping points and go straight to the end of the route or start from the beginning I use plenty of shaping points and also a few Via/waypoints as Via/Waypoints can't be ignored where as the zumo can ignore shaping points My solution is to have plenty of both and turn off route recalculation on to prompt That way you can go off route if need be and be able to join back up on your own accord without messing the route

@Don-Stauffer Hello @Don-Stauffer I've left the idea with the developers so they can think about it

@Tim-Thompson In the Garmin export V1.2 - all the shaping points are hidden with the exception of a) Starting point b) End point and c) any POI such as fuel or rest stop. When doing a test simulation on the Garmin Zumo 396, it chokes up on the Via rest stop point with the icon going round in circles. I will have to do a live test on V1.2

@Con-Hennekens that is what I ended up doing and it works just fine. When all the waypoints are actually ViaPoints (as opposed to shaping points) I tend to search along the active route which works very well but the shaping points dont allow the service station to be slotted in at the correct place. I will have to think about how to create routes using shaping points in the future for 3rd parties as, unless you understand what is going on, it will cause problems. Something to keep me busy on my return in a months time..

@Drabslab said in Use of basecamp: Yes they most likely are. But that do3sn't meab that they are updated at the same moment Yes, but that renders it a user-error instead of a platform mis-design. Does Garmin Express not update both simultaneously (if you let it do that)?

@Nick-Carthew @Martin-Atkinson Waypoint colours are visible in the Mobile app too. In the next update, waypoint pause icon are included as well as extra waypoint metadata such as notes & images
