@Corjan-Meijerink
Thank you for the immediate response. I understand that MRA depends on the accurancy and up-to-date information of Here maps, which - IMO - is very poor, as described.
I think I have found and will evaluate the solution of a competitor that - at least on the first look and also at an affordable price - appears as if it fulfills my most important user needs:
motorcycle optimized route planning
maps updated by an active user community
web site tour planning and Android app for navigation
Android app allows to report road blocks and do a detour
management of my planned tours.
I will continue to use MRA for my car routes, but it seems I will switch to another solution for my motorcycle tour planning and navigation.
It is a good suggestion if your phone has this notifcation. I've never encounter issues with 100% full. But as far as i know my phone does give any notifications when full. Maybe i did disable it already.
I have a phone for navigation only. So i disabled everything what is not used for navigation. App notifications is one them.
@Rob-Verhoeff
Via Safari, Firefox, ... kan dit en dat doe ik al jaren.
Ik bedoelde wel van de navigatie app zelf op mijn iPad of Carpe Iter, maar ik heb in andere antwoorden begrepen dat dit een verre droom is.
@Corjan-Meijerink ha ha, yeh I did work that one out, and had a play today, actually quite impressed so far with how all the via points and way points appear on the screen as you get close to them.
I haven't enjoyed such luxuries before.

Ik zou je vraag ook aan ChatGTP voorleggen. Misschien weet zij wel raad ?
Kak! Is ChatGPT vrouwelijk? Dan mag ik wel oppassen wat ik allemaal invoer, anders wordt mijn leidinggevende boos!!
@Con-Hennekens Having Siri (or Google) commands for navigation functions is OK, but when I'm using inRoute, I don't use them often. The commands they provide have limited value (to me). I do like the 2 that you suggested. Those would be great adds to any product.
@Peter-Schiefer, there are no supervisers.
It would be really neat, and a nice gimmick for a software house like MRA, to have a forum AI plugin that translates on the fly, so that everyone can read and write in their own language. I believe that the current state of Deepl and ChatGPT are more than excellent for this task.
Star Trek's Universal Translater (but in small version)

@Gerard-Wullink
AA on the Africa Twin works well. Its Wired AA so the phone has to be connected to the bike via USB. The output of the Africa Twin USB port is 1.5 amps so about 18W. If I use Myroute app the phone gets warm but retains its charge. I run the phone with the screen switched off. I've tried AA with two phones an old Android 10 Motorola G7 and lately with a Motorola Edge 40 neo running Android 14. Obviously the speed of the newer phone is an advantage but both can run MRA. Both phones run Google maps easily for point to point navigation. There are two issues with the Honda implementation of AA
It is very sensitive to they type of USB A /USB C lead used to connect the phone to the Honda head unit. It needs to be a high data rate cable. I use this one "Amazon Basics Double Braided Nylon USB-C to USB-A 3.1 Gen 2 Cable (USB-IF Certified), supports high data transfer upto 10 Gbps (0.9 m/3 Feet, Dark Grey)"
The USB A cable retainer on the bike can pull the cable out of the USB port and the USB C connection to the phone can loosen with vibration. Both issues can be mitigated by using "blue tac" to reinforce the connections on the cable

How do we get Spam Post here, when only registered member can post contributions
Maybe they create an MRA account
