Hey, I'm new Gold + Next Lifetime user from the Netherlands
-
Let me introduce myself.
I am Luc and I live in Twente Hengelo (NL).
I have been riding a motorcycle since 1975 and touring & traveling were always my preferences in driving, making routes myself had my training in the truck where as an international truck driver I made the route for the next day every evening with a box full of street books and road maps of Europe. There were no navigation systems yet and so you made your own route book and wrote down all kinds of information on the way, which added to the driving for the next time and was the update.I was there early as soon as the navigation made its entrance, after some experiences with different brands TomTom pleased me the most. I also drove in manure & bulk transport, where you had to load and unload at farmers. The transport company's Garmin was hopeless in this, where my own TT 6250 always brought me to the right locations, where there were no street names or road numbers, you had to unload in the middle of the unknown, exactly to the meter, because the 6250 did have the unpaved roads in their data system. With route making TT was a limitation because you had a limitation in points in routes. I used Garmin Basecamp to refine the route, but I find graphic Basecamp a program with the appearance of Windows 3.1.
I have had many motorcycles in my life, heavy and light motorcycles, I like to steer nicely on agricultural roads at home and abroad. Last year I went to Croatia, many back roads from routes that I made myself. My current motorcycle, the Honda NT700 Deauville is a nice, somewhat underrated steering & touring motorcycle for the general public and ideal because of the low weight, good storage options, only the case locks are crap.
Discovered MRA MyRoute a year ago and quickly decided to first go for the route planner for Gold Lifetime and recently also the Navigation Next Lifetime.
I drive more motorcycle kilometers than by car, I don't drive a truck anymore, I'm retired now.I film while driving with 3x GoPro Hero 9 cameras (with the MediaMod) and an Insta360 X3. Just buy the cameras to take pictures and use the film material for editing in DaVinci Resolve in the winter. I'm still a bit behind in editing because I only have that program (the paid version) and technical English is not my native language.
I still use my TT Rider 550 on the motorcycle until the MyRoute app can take over.

@Luc-Wijdeveld welcome to the Forum and the wonderful world of MRA.
I would say, dump the TT and discover all the possibilities of MRA on your tab
Have fun -
Welcome to the nice forum.
My TT Rider is somewhere in the drawer. -
Welcome to the world of MRA!! I switched from a Garmin Zumo myself a few years ago and really needed some time to get used to it. So give that some time and know that we are happy to help you here if you can't figure it out. In any case, your TT will soon be available on Marktplaats
I'm curious about the videos you make with that beautiful setup. Do you have an example that you can share? Last year I switched from GoPro to DJI. No regrets to date, but that also took some getting used to

@Luc-Wijdeveld Welcome to the forum. Nice introduction
As you’ll see from my forum signature, my Rider 500 is gathering dust in the cupboard.

Welcome Luc!
NIce to have another Tukker here

Welcome

@Marinus-van-Deudekom I will always keep the TomTom with me, I know from years of experience with millions of kilometers that a 2nd navigation is the help in making your own choice, if you doubt.
Saturday May 10th I will participate in the beginners course at the KNMV in Arnhem and hope that this is the starting point of a new adventure.
I have a Samsung Tab S9 FE + wifi / 5G, 12.4 inch screen and vandal-proof cover around it that is attached to the tank bag, that will be the MyRoute Navigator Next, has its own sim with Anker Powerbank 250 watt power backup, which are also intended for the action cameras.
To each his own. -
Don't trow your TT in the dump. I'm a new user and have some troubles with the app.
So switch if you know the ins and outs -
welcome to the excellence that is MRA, well perhaps an exaggeration, it has it's flaws but doesn't everything, learn by your mistakes when planning a route. there a few golden rules you must stick to, otherwise your beautifully planned route will have you going down closed roads back and forward along motorways etc etc.
there are some who enjoy deprecating the app, do not pay attention to them, there are those who will mention OsmAnd in every thread possible, MEH! take the advice of the route experts and all the other good advice on here. some of it will work for you others may not.
my Xt has not seen daylight for over 2 years, i used an oukitel RT3 tablet without issue on many mutli day trips, always offline, i have now moved on to a carpuride 702b and not had any issues in around 4 months of use, I am using it on a multi day trip in 2 weeks. sure it will be fine,
if unsure, ask on this forum someone will know the answer, ignore the nay sayers.
