Undesirable routing!
-
Hi All,
Yesterday when I was out on the bike I did a route from the location I was at to home
This was done by searching my home address and changing the options to give me a twisty/adventurous route
I haven't used the navigation much and always just had it as a back up incase my Zumo XT gave up but I have recently thought I would give it a try
One thing I noticed is that if I missed a turn it was trying to reroute me back to the route which is fine but what is not OK is that at one point I missed a turned but then it was trying to take me down the next road to then turn around and come back down the same road to join the same road I was on! see the image attached
This should have continued straight until i met the route again and not tried to take me down the same road twice
There was no waypoints or shaping points along the route just a straight get me home in a twisty fashion
Is there a setting to change to stop this happening? I have looked but can't see anything
Thanks

@stuart-marritt, I am not so sure that it should. Sometimes people just turn around, and then will be lead to that same point again. That is not a possibility when it skips ahead like you propose. Of course you can go straight ahead like you propose, and you will see that the route will pick that up after a short while.

@stuart-marritt I noticed similar problem. See attached screenshot - why left? I set curvy route to the destination. I’m missed one or two turns, checked some side roads etc. expecting it will reroute and navigate to the point.
Later on forced me to turn around to that point. I did not set any via points - only set destination.

But without zooming out you won't see what is happening and just follow the instructions then be turned around! It's a pointless exercise

Yes that's exactly what happened to me I only managed to get one screenshot but it was always trying to route me back!
If I have a route with no waypoints and I have missed the turn then just route to the next available joining point without going back on yourself

Hallo mensen bij mra,
Hier hetzelfde probleem.
<iframe style="border:none;overflow:hidden" width="600" height="286" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" src="https://www.myrouteapp.com//embed/route/10992117?lang=nl"></iframe>

Dan heeft de navi tijd om je goed op naar je eerste punt te begeleidenSet the route to public and then copy the link in your web browser and paste it here as a link.
You have placed many waypoints not on the road but a piece next to it. Always place these well on the road. This also gives you that he wants to send you back because he missed the point. And always set your starting point a little further away than your original starting point. Then the navi has time to guide you well to your first point
