Feature request: Advanced Search

The location search feels quite basic. Most of the time, when I enter a place name — say, a French village — I’m shown a short list of five results. As someone not familiar with the area, I often have to guess which one is correct.
It’s only after adding the waypoint to the route that I can see whether I’ve picked the right location. What I’d really like is the ability to prioritise or filter search results based on proximity to my current route — that way, the results are far more likely to be relevant.
As it stands, I end up trial-and-erroring my way through every version of the location until I land on the right one.

@Fifield-Nick I second this; I.often search in Google Maps für for the correct address/place and paste that into the MyRoute-app because of how limited search presents its results.
Also, on Android, the results are always shown behind the keyboard which needs to be hidden first - I'm typing blindly before this! (This is on Samsung S22 Ultra, in case that doesn't happen for every phone.)

@peha funny. I was using the search on the website again last night . Dreadful for my use case ie I’m trying to find a road in france, or the name of a place in france which is near my existing route . I’ve no idea which of the five listed are the one I’m searching for , need to try them all and even then might not be correct . Surprised more people haven’t raised this issue!

@Fifield-Nick depending on the length of the name being searched, the entirety of the field is not displayed, making search quite a cumbersome task.
