My ‘wish list’ for the POIs:

    • I would like to create my own collection that contains different points. E.g. hotels, passes or museums.
    • I would like to be able to expand this collection.
    • I would like to give the POIs in my collection their own symbol depending on their type. So one for passes (= mountain), for hotels (= bed) or museums (= house or similar). These symbols should be permanently linked to the POI and not be lost when saving, exporting, etc.
    • I would like to be able to display and insert these POIs in a route that I am planning.
    • I would also like to have a small description of the respective POI. For example, information on the altitude of the pass or the opening hours of the museum. I would then add this information to my POI myself.

    Thanks for reading 🙂

      Hallo Claudia,

Most of the above is possible if you have the gold version you can make your own libaries.
Also adding info on POI’s is possible.

If you have a route click on the Help in the left bar at the bottom, seearch for POI

Most symbols are already build-in. After placing a waypoint you can click on the waypoint and click the yellow button (see red arrow) for the standard MRA symbols.

Not sure if this is possible though. When i tried it, it came with some standard MRA symbols for POI's i created, see below:

          • I would like to be able to display and insert these POIs in a route that I am planning.

This is ofcourse possible! But i just found out that all POI's i created myself wasn't shown in another route in the library of POI's. Even crwating a new route didn't show the POI i created. So, my best gues is, that all POI's you create is just for that route and not for existing/new routes.

          • I would also like to have a small description of the respective POI. For example, information on the altitude of the pass or the opening hours of the museum. I would then add this information to my POI myself.

POI's in the library aren't editable regarding to text. The onlty thing you can do here is adding text to the waypoint itself. You can only change the name of the POI. To add text/description clikc on the waypoint, click on the icon with 3 bars (blue arrow) and the click on the notepad icon (red arrow). Theere you can add all the relevant text you want.

If you are in a route click on "Points of Intrest" in the left menu
(I have put MRA on Deutsch, but writing Deutsch if difficult for me, dispite I live 1 km of the border 😞 )
in points of intrest you see Bibliothek where you can add your own POI.
I have the German "Bikertreffs" as POI.

            POI bibliotheek.png

here I want to go to the Treff Felsenmühle

            POI 1.png

If I click on the POI I see 2 buttons, if I click on the left button I can add the POI to the route.
            Poi 2.png

I can then choose between add is as POI or as Routenpunkt.
POI 3.png If you do it as Routenpunkt you can add text, color etc,

Wow - thank you very much for the quick answers.
I would like to briefly describe where my destination is with the POIs, maybe there is another way than via the POIs.

I am starting to plan a holiday, currently the Pyrenees Tour 2025, by looking for places that interest me. I like caves and viewpoints, some museums and I also love gorges. Hotel recommendations are also good points.
I then create a POI with its own symbol for each point. This makes it easier for me to distinguish them on the map when planning. So all the hotels get a bed. The caves have a cave symbol and so on.
When I start the route, I show my destinations and see how they might fit in with the route.
This is not possible with the current POIs. I'm currently using the favourites, but that's very confusing.

                That's exactly my problem.

Hi Bert - that's close to my problem.
I can only import POIs into the library. I can't create a collection here and then collect points.
I have exported a few points from BC and uploaded them as POIs in the MRA. I can actually call these up in all routes.
One of the main reasons for switching to MRA was that I can then solve all problems in one program and don't have to constantly switch between different apps.
I have now added a point from my collection to a route - similar to what you describe above.
                  It looks like this.
                  Screenshot 2024-12-31 102507.png
I can no longer edit the item when I click on it. And the route does not lead to the point.

You have to add the POI from your libary as “Routenpunkt”.
In that way you can add text etc and also route to that point.
