iPhone Navigation App | High Battery usage
-
I recently started using the Navigation app for routes created in MRA. I have found that the navigation app drains the battery very quickly. I usually put in long rides and towards the end of the ride, I’m having to think of ways to conserve battery.
I have my phone mounted on my motorcycle using QuadLock Wireless charger. The charging can’t keep up with the usage. I had to close down the navigation app and rely on the standalone GPS (Garmin Zumo XT).
Is this a known issue? Does anyone else also have this issue?

@Rakesh-Rao Definitely known and we are working on it! It's an extremely complicated issue of which the root cause is at HERE. I'm in touch with them constantly to see how they are progressing.

@Rakesh-Rao A couple of practical work-arounds in the meantime that may help:
- try charging with a cable - you'll generally get higher power into the phone than with a wireless charger
- use dark mode on your device, if it has one. That takes less power to light the screen.

@Rakesh-Rao
Its a known error/bug/flaw and I have nothing to add at Corjans post.
I believe there is a update coming that might offer some improvements.One advice I can give you, try to use a cable instead of a wireless charger.
A cable can reach higher watts then a wireless charger (depends on the phone and charger and other components).
