adding route to an event and back

As far as I've understood, when I add a route to an event from my routes collection, the route is copied, not linked, so if I need to make changes I have to change the route in the event. What I haven't found (searching in the manuals and the forums) if it's possible to copy this route back to my routes collection...

edit: nope, I just found out that I cannot edit the route in the event how it is supposed to work on an event route? can I just add routes without any chance to modify them?

Delete the route from the event
Adjust the route in your library
Add the route to the event (a new copy is made)

I understand that the delete, adjust, re-add is the way it works, I think this also applies to Groups as well.

Could youn you explain why this is necessay & why the routes in Events & Groups can not be dynamically linked to the creators own route library?

I understand that a dynamic link feature would not be a priority just curious if there is a reason why it is like it is & if it may change in the future
As things currently work, I dont see much use for Events or Groups but instead just create a folder in my own library & share this with firends or public.

@Brian-McG, This allows the source route to be altered for different purposes or events, without the current event being compromised.

would it not be easier just to create a new copy of the route in my library?
that would be one simple click rather than the rigmarole of delete, adjust, add

This was decided when building the application, so that routes that are placed in an event or group are a copy of the original that is in your library. And that the original route always remains the original route until you adjust it. And that is only possible in your own library.

To be honest, I think not
In your route library there is no clear indication of your route being part of an event. So an error is made easy.
