spoken directions do not work every time (plus volume question)
-
hello!
So I use the navigation app on my iphone (15 pro if relevant) and i noticed that sometimes the directions are not spoken, for me that is my main form of information on the motorcycle.I used a route i found via the app in my area and drove it for a while when i noticed that it didn't tell me every turn.
and a side question, I also use spotify most of the times while riding, and i find that the music is louder than the instructions, is there a way to adjust this?
(I mean that the i want the volume of the navigation instructions on a louder setting that my music, when i now have instructions on the same volume as my music i have the urge to turn the volume up)hoping that these issue can be resolved, thank you!

@Martijn-1l, It is a known issue that instructions are not spoken when a waypoint is too near to the junction/roundabout. Try to place your waypoints 150 to 200 mtrs away from them. On IOS my thought was that the instructions come from a separate sound channel, and you can adjust that while it is speaking but I cannot speak from experience. On Android I know for sure that the instructions are mixed into the media channel, and that independant volume therefore is not possible.

Thank you for your reply, i almost forgot about this question, i thought i would get an notification when someone would respond, turns out it didnt probably my own settings....regarding the missing instructions, the route was not made by me, I just picked a route in my area and drove it. so i had no influence on the location of the waypoint, when designing my routes I will keep it in mind, thank you!
Regarding the volume, I have tried to change the volume when the app is telling me instructions but then the music volume also goes down.
So the music and the navigation has one volume channel, unfortunately…I would really like a solution to the volume thing because the music is background for me, so I can just hear it, and the instructions should be loud and clear
otherwise i need to look for an other solution / navigation app. -
The volume issue can be solved with a third party TTS engine.

Do you have a suggestion what TTS engine would work on IOS? -

Sadly there is not always a possibilty to do this. A stop can be just around the corner.
A WP just before a roundabout/junction seems less of an issue than the a WP just after a roundabout/junction -

But i use Acapella for Android on my phone. I did the trick for me.
Acapella seems to be available for IOS also -
On my last daytrip (i thought with 4.2.0) both WP and directions were not spoken if a WP is close to a junction.
This whole thing need some work. Notes and names of WP are also not always spoken even when the distances between the last en next WP/junction is big enough.
