Adapting routes in "events"

We share our routes between our small group (3 members, all organizer status) in events. Since we've all got our own specialties (one is really good in looking for POI's, the other likes to check some offroad parts, the last one knows how to find the best bars, ...) all of us would like to be able to change them as if they were in the cloud (like sharing a word-file in docs where every member can make remarks or change the file). I've searched long and wide and as far as i can see only the route owner can change them. I understand this when it's for (external) group events or if you want to control the route, but all the "organizers" should be able to make modifications in the routes.
Is there any way that we could all change them and keep the one route in events? Or is there another workaround for this?
