Apple Car Play Choose saved Routes

Hi,
I'm new to MyRoute App and Navigator and using Carpuride to display the navigation and keep the phone in my pocket.
I have to get the phone out of my pocket to select a saved route.
Is it possible to select a saved route whilst in Apple Car Play or just generally every function?
Personally, I find the split between MyRoute App and Navigator artificial and see it as one logical app with two functions, but slowly getting use to it.
Currently I can only see Favourite which is favourite places rather than favourite routes.
