Today, I rode in an area where I knew I'd lose Internet. I wanted to test riding a route offline to verify behavior.

The map of United States -- California is downloaded. The route is downloaded. I received a message when I got to the part of the route where Internet was lost. When things went to offline mode, I noticed the route time and distance increased substantially. When I viewed the map, I saw this:

      image0 (1).png

Notice that the road between waypoints 8 and 9 is no longer part of the route. Is it possible that there is something wrong with the HERE offline map?

@John-S-Parry can you share a link to the route. Make sure it is public and if in a folder that the folder is public.

I just went ahead and did a fresh download of the US—California map. I then turned on the setting to use offline navigation, and started the route. The route appeared as it should.

I’m assuming that the route started in offline mode. If so, I’m assuming there was some corruption in the previously downloaded map. I’m still getting familiar with using NEXT, so if I’m off base, any input would be appreciated.

@John-S-Parry I took a look at the route. Looks fine except for a few waypoints that are off the route line. Can't say why you got the earlier result.

@RetiredWingMan Thanks for looking. I just adjusted all the waypoints to be exactly on top of the MRA generated route line, although I don't think that impacted the missing route section.

For now, I've written it off to something wrong with the original downloaded map. As I mentioned, performing a fresh map download seems to clear the situation up. I'll be riding that route in full early next week. I want to see it run successful to have complete confidence in NEXT. The Garmin Basecamp/XT combo has its share of warts, but I've never experienced anything like this.
