Still no Voice prompts!!
-
PLEASE can somebody tell me what I can do to correct this problem.
I will run through the steps that I have taken.
I have the latest version of the app 4.0.6 232
I am using HERE maps.
The maps have been downloaded for the area that I am using.
I have plotted the route and downloaded it for off line use.
Voice prompts are turned On.
I have tried stopping and restarting the navigation with no success.
What more can I do? -
@Roger-Doidge Without being able to say anything about your route, I've noticed that I don't receive voice instructions when I place a waypoint just before-, at-, or right after an intersection, a road junction or roundabout. It has helped me to place the waypoints much further from intersections, etc. However, there could be many other factors at play. You haven't mentioned what configuration you're using or on which platform. Are you using just the app, or are you using it in conjunction with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto? Do you use a communication set in your helmet when you're talking about motorcycling, or does it only happen in the car? There are quite a few topics on this subject if you search for them!

@Roger-Doidge you've not said which platform you're using (Android or Apple), but one thing to try is to get the app to speak to you, and whilst it's doing that, increase the volume.
For Apple:
- Menu -> Navigation Settings -> Audio -> 'Play audio sample' and increase the device volume whilst it's talking
For Android:
- Menu -> Navigation Settings -> Audio -> select a voice and press the play icon next to the selected voice, it will play a short sentence, and increase the device volume whilst it's talking
Also in the Audio settings:
- Voice prompts 'On' (you've done that)
- select maximum Volume

@richtea999 I'm using Android and I'm not using Android Auto and I'm not biker so no helmet.
I have never actually chosen a voice, I have just accepted whatever. I have now chosen a voice so I'll see what happens tomorrow. -
@Roger-Doidge, to rule out the issue @Rob-Verhoeff brought up, you could try a direct route, by selecting a destination with help of the looking-glass search.

@Con-Hennekens Problem solved, I think.
I selected a voice and nice young lady spoke to me at every turning.
I look forwards to hearing from her again in the near future! -
