    Maybe Cost related but is TomTom an alternatieve?

    @M-Schrijver TomTom already have an app - it seems very unlikely that they'd give away the family jewels (so to speak!) to another app developer.

    Especially when MRA is such good competition, and doesn't need dedicated h/w.

      @richtea999 Well, so does Here with his HERE WeGo navigation app...

        BMW Connected app is based on TomTom.
        And I use it very often (40k km ).
        The iPhone doesn't overheat and power is no problem.
        But the iPhone does not emulate the screen on the device. Screendata is being sent to the TFT.
        But I think that most of the features of Next are impossible to implement in the TomTom engine.

          @M-Schrijver

          If you have an MRA Gold account you can already use the Tom Tom Curvy/Windy Routes Options.

          Set up your Tom Tom Route using the Tom Tom Map.
          Then “Expand” X amount of waypoints into it.
          You will then need to switch it to the Here map and check that all the “Expanded” Waypoints are on the Here Map Routeline.

          You don’t stop riding when you get old, you get old when you stop riding.

            @Lynchy67 Dein Vorschlag entspricht dem Tutorial fĂŒr die Erstellung kurvenreicher Routen in MRA. Das funktioniert auch gut so.
            Aber leider löst es nicht das Problem des hohen Stromverbrauchs bei der Navigation mit den HERE-Karten.

                If Here is causing high battery usage. Why can't a different map be used?

                @Fred-Gilbert HERE is the only map provider that supports the Flutter design platform. Since this app is being developed on that platform, it is not possible to choose another map provider for the navigation engine.

                    @Herko-ter-Horst

                    I have no issues navigating at all.
                    I always use the offline option
                    My Samsung S21+ always gives me a positive increase whenever I'm Navigating
                    I never use Voice prompts and I choose the Simple option for the Maps.
                    I only use the Offline Navigation and Skip waypoints automatically.
                    Everything else in the Functional option is turned off.

                      I read such drastic measures befoe on the forum.

                      If you turn off everything that makes Next interesting, then it works 🙂

                      That may be good as a temporary hack, but not as final solution, I hope.

                        The only things interesting to me are my coloured Via Points showing me the POI’s.
                        Scenery, Viewpoints, Historic or notable Buildings, Lakes, Ponds, Mountains, Food/Drink and Fuel.
