MRA BURNS THE SCREEN?
-
After a summer of riding with MRA, I've noticed a slight burn in of the NRA screen on my Samsung S20. Has anyone else noticed a problem?
-
NRA! Um...
I've never seen screen burn on a phone, but they are mostly using OLED displays nowadays (including S20) so it's certainly possible.
I would have thought your status bar and Android button bar at the bottom would be the most affected since they're on full time, not just in partial use. Are they OK?
Some advice here that suggests it may be reversible:

I don't see any 4+ star apps to help you, though. And of course, consider dark mode, and pretend its the 1980s.

Depending on the screen type that can certainly happen with almost every app if you've got the app opened for very long times. Static content can then 'burn' in the screen.
Is more of a device / screen issue rather than related to the app

@Doug-Robinson, screenshot from the samsung website:
I guess burn-in is the price you pay for ultra bright screen usage. Have you been using it at max brightness?

I decided to try using landscape mode and a dark screen to see if it might minimise burn in on the screen. I've decided I like it! I think the impact on the screen is going to be a lot less. I can switch between landscape and portrait to change the position of objects on the screen. In dark mode the only really bright item is the speed limit. Could the intensity of the speed limit be reduced in dark mode?

You could avoid the burn-in by rotating the speed limit colours like this [courtesy of Giphy.com]:
The speech output could also be synchronised to say 'Sloooooow dooooooown'
What could possibly go wrong?
I've been looking at that for about 2 minutes. I think. Now where was I?
