Starting location for new route

Hello, I am brand new to this, I note in a tutorial when you start a new route the tutor says the map will open up at your location, my one opens up to a world map, how do I set it up to open at my location, i.e. my home town or address, or is that facility not available in Basic

Yes, you can set that up on your PC / Phone.
You must give permission to use your current location.

@Hans-van-de-Ven-MRA-Master Thanks for this, I see one answer is to change the security settings in Chrome, is that your recommendation also? or can this be done through MRA? if so where do I need to go to find the setting?

@Con-Hennekens Thank you, I have checked and my Chrome permission already allows sharing of my location, when I open a new route it still takes me to a general map nowhere near my location, what am I missing here?

Obviously your computer or your browser does not know where it is...

@Con-Hennekens I am having the same problem, as well as a lot of others. I have checked and MyRoute App is listed as having access to my location in my browser. Did you find out how to default it to your location?
