Android drops into sleep mode

Android phone fall into sleep mode while using navigation - the screen switches off. How to stop it please?

Not on my Android and Apple device, check your phone settings

@Pavel-Doležal that should only happen if the phone switched to another app. I had it happen during a rain storm. The water caused the phone to switch apps.
