Every day, a school day, as they say.

Forgive me if this is old news, but this function is really good for sharing routes on a forum. I say that, simply because the way the route is shown is more interesting than just posting a crude link.

@Richard-18 Thanks for pointing this out. The ability to share routes among friends or the wider community is at the heart of what MRA is all about. 👍

Always willing to help if I can.

            Thanks both.

Whilst I signed up for MyRoute years ago, I must confess I never used it, being a diehard Garmin MapSource / BaseCamp fan.

As the Garmin products became more and more flakey on my Mac, I decided to give MRA a go. After a few false starts (and with good help from the forum and the excellent tutorial videos) I got the hang of it. Though, as this thread shows, I am definitely still learning bits and little tricks.

Having now used it properly for about eight months, I think it is the best product available, not least as (unlike Garmin route creation software) I can use it on my iPad and, if necessary, on my iPhone, too. That it is easy to share routes is a really nice bonus.

Best wishes to all for the new year.

            Richard

              Even hotels use this function

I was also a Basecamp adept for a long time.
But as you indicate, you cannot use Basecamp on a smartphone or tablet. An even bigger disadvantage is that Basecamp is mainly set up to use the database locally. It is possible in a cloud situation, but that does not work well.
MRA is miles ahead in that regard. But also in terms of functionality, Mapsource cannot match MRA.
(although maybe Basecamp is a bit better when using waypoints and POIs. I know this statement is arbitrary)

                  Hi Jack,
I still have BC on a 10 inch Windows tablet, which I always took with me on multi-day trips. It works, but then you've said it all. I have not used the tablet since 2015
The use of waypoints in MRA is great if you worked with waypoints in BC, and if you use the break times you'll end up with the planned time nicely (in my case anyway)
