We have been riding for 40± years and taken the bike abroad to France lots of times but this time is a 2+ week tour down to the Alps around mid June. So if you have any tips/hotels or routes you want to share then more than happy to talk. We are retired now and would consider joining(if only part time ) with another couple of similar age.

        Hi Colin,
Welcome to the wonderful world of MRA.

A good place to start is the Route Experts Library.

You don’t stop riding when you get old, you get old when you stop riding.

@colin-hodgkinson The motorbike museum at the top of the Timmelsjoch pass is interesting but be aware that from Italy into Switzerland you have to pay a toll as I got caught out. I can't remember the exact route off the top of my head but on the way to Venice the journey from Chur to Lake Como was breath taking though didn't have the time to really enjoy it. At the top of Lake Como we stayed in a hotel that is set up for bikers and was reasonable, it was called Hotel Lago Di Como in Colico. Which ever route you take will be fun just be aware Switzerland is expensive
