@Guzzist which controller do you use with MRA and DMD2?

If you think everything is under control you are driving to slow!

@Guzzist which controller do you use with MRA and DMD2?

      I'm using Remote-2 controller, because:

      • it's small enough to place device between left handlebar and bikes switch element. So I'm able to operate by my thumb both, the remote controller and the switches like turn indicator comfortably.
      • I'm riding often offroad rallyes and navigate by "Rallye Road Book". The DMD device is able to operate that PDF files, and populated it on the screen. By the remote controller the descriptions in this files can be moved line by line over the screen. On such bumpy roads, it's difficult to hit the needed button on the controller correctly. The metallic 2-way switch for this at the Remote-2 controller, supports this in best way. Other controllers with knobs or 4-way mini joysticks are not suitable.
      • The Remote-2 controller can be connected be cable (pug&play) to the pre-configured cable harness with the DMD devices. Which makes it very easy and reliable. It can also be connected by Bluetooth; but I fear more issues with Bluetooth, because I have also connected my Headset to the DMD devices as well as my mobile phone. I was happy to could establish a reliable connection to Headset and mobile phone after long try and error phase. I don't need more risks.

But the perfect situation is currently only for the DMD devices and running the DMD2 app! The MyRoute-App is still not supported by DMD Remote controller (and vice versa). Means: the 2-way switch - responsible for zoom in- and out in map, is not working in MyRoute-App. There you need to use the 4-way mini joystick for zooming - which is not secure enough during offroad riding.
I'm in hope, this will be fixed by MyRoute-App developers soon. But overall the use of MyRoute-App on DMD devices is possible and works great.👍

      Nothing is impossible ;-)

Thank you. Does this also apply to other controller variants (also non Silverfox). Based on https://unterstutzung.myrouteapp.com/de/support/solutions/articles/12000103174-bluetooth-controllers I would think, that every controller needs to be bluetooth, right?

@ConiKost I’m afraid I can’t say for certain about the other controllers available on the market.

However, every Silverfox model is Bluetooth-compatible.

If you’d prefer a different product, I’d recommend visiting the manufacturer’s website directly.

As for Silverfox, I can only say that the quality is excellent and it works really well with MRA too.

Just asking, as I have not yet decided what to do. I am not against bluetooth, just wanted to know, if it's a must or not, when choosing a controller for me. Silverfox is nice. But my problem is more difficult, as I don't have any place to mount it on handlebar and currently thinking about other mounting methods. Silverfox C1 may be an option, but I have to see.

Am I right, that for example Silverfox can be powered by T665 cable splitter, but connected via bluetooth, right? Does the splitter cable output 12V or 5V? Since its behind the converter box, I would expect 5V, but somehow Google tells me 12V?

On my GS, I had to move the left-hand mirror inwards just a little... but it fits quite well and I don’t need a special homemade mount.

Hi This is my first 'Post' on MRA (I'm not very good at this Social Media stuff, so apologies in advance)
Although I am a long term MRA and earlier 'TYRE' user

The reason for this message is in 2 parts (What I have now and What I would like some help with)

                                  1. I have a fairly New Garmin TREAD which I bought for On & Off road use, BUT I can't get on with it at all, far too complicated and keeps trying to send me off my planned routes, Nightmare.

                                  2. I'm thinking of buying a DMD Device probably the smaller version T665? as the Bike is a 250cc Dirt Bike

                                  3. I've been using OutDoorActive very successfully on a Smartphone for 2 or 3 Years, but a Waterproof Bike Specific solution is very interesting.

                                  4. I understand the DMD is an Android Device so can take different applications so to the final question.
What OFF ROAD mapping does one use on the DMD device, is there an Off Road map that comes with the device or is there a preferred mapping that people generally choose.
And what mapping for On Road (I will use MRA if that is possible, it seems to be from the review)

If anyone has the time to reply I would really appreciate the information.

                                  Thanks in advance

                                      @Rob-Holliday Hi Rob,

Welcome to MRA! Don’t worry about social media – we’re happy to help each other here. 😊

The DMD T665 is indeed a good choice for a 250cc dirt bike: small, robust, and waterproof. Since it’s an Android device, you can use multiple apps for navigation.

For offroad use, the DMD app already includes topographic offline maps that show trails and terrain, so you can start using it right away. You can also install additional Android navigation apps, like Locus Map or OsmAnd, if you want more maps or routing features.

For onroad use, MRA is ideal: you can simply follow the routes you already create in MRA on the DMD device. It works the same as on a regular smartphone, but waterproof and bike-specific.

In short, the T665 plus the DMD maps give you a solid offroad foundation right away, with the option to use extra apps for even more flexibility.

Hi Bart, Thanks for your reply and the additional DMD Info, much appreciated.

I also had a lot of information from Rainer (Guzziest) in a PM, I now have confidence the DMD solution is for me the flexibility is the key element I think.

Thanks again for the support, I know where to come now to find ‘expert advice’

                                        Cheers

But my problem is more difficult, as I don't have any place to mount it on handlebar

I don’t know what sort of motorbike you ride.
On my GS, I had to move the left-hand mirror inwards just a little... but it fits quite well and I don’t need a special homemade mount.

Concerning your question about connecting the T665 , I'm using the Silverfox in connection with a regular Smartphone, so I cannot answer this question.

No problem. I've now found a different solution for me. Ordered a Remotek One instead for me and with a specific RAM mount, I found a good place for me.
