Updated beta! 6.0.0 (531) - Preparation for release
-
Hi all

This is the version submitted for release.
Processed quite some iOS feedback.Unfortunately Android was not able to submit feedback due to Google being absolutely terrible again. I had to cancel the release of 526 for Android to submit this new version. I've immediately contacted Google again asking for an expedited review.
What's new since build 526
- RouteXpert library (Next): it has its own front page in the menu, with search, an explore-the-map view, destinations near you and themes. Routes now show rider reviews: a rating, Ridden by, Helpful votes, and a How was it? question after you ride one.
- Trips by day: the trip journal is organised by day number. A day can hold routes ridden in parts, walks, co-riders' tracklogs and a write-up. After you save a ride, you can add it to that day of the trip.
- Live rides: you can send a private message to one person instead of only to everyone. A new Notify me when β¦ arrives switch tells you when a friend gets there. Messages now arrive even when position updates stall.
- Offline maps: the page is rebuilt with clear progress. Downloads pause when the connection drops and start again by themselves. If a route fails offline, the app tells you which stop the maps on your phone don't cover.
- More works offline: trips, clubs, events, the garage, stays and the tracklog library open as they last looked.
- AI Routeplanner (Next): your credits show in the planner, and it tells you what a message will cost before you send it.
- POIs and favourites (Next): they have an address and a description you can edit. POI groups that friends share with you appear under Shared with you.
Navigation
- Traffic warnings and route-violation cards close by themselves after a few seconds.
- With recalculation off, Return to route shows the distance back and a Recalculate button.
- Tapping a POI or favourite while navigating opens it, so you can add it to the route.
- You'll see fewer false GPS lost banners, and the app no longer asks for physical-activity permission.
In the car
- Android Auto: signs and exit badges are no longer cut off, and the waypoint list no longer gets stuck loading.
- CarPlay: offline and last-route notices now show as banners.
- Controller view: tiles and text are bigger, and there's a new Tracklog tile.
Smaller changes
- Moving from the classic app now carries your login and routes over automatically.
- Electric cars without a battery capacity set can be routed again.
- Tapping outside a text field closes the keyboard.
- Many more...
Public release will be announced soon!
As of next week Monday, people who bought the pre-sale are able to use beta.myrouteapp.com
Your app will also be able to login on that platform once you have the latest version.Cheers,
Corjan -

Great work again Corjan and the rest of the team.
To bad that you had to cancel the update for Android but I quite understand the reason. Hopefully Google will pass 531 a bit faster -

Corjan@Corjan-Meijerink I'm still a great Fan of MyRouteApp and your great work. Respekt! And it's verry annoying (especially for Android Beta-Tester) if Google ist so slowly in their work for PlayStore. We know it's not yor fault and you don't have Cards in that game
May you can ask JoΓ£o from DMD, how he is dealing with updates? It looks like, the updates for DMD are more quicker available in PlayStore.

Given how long it takes for Google to process each new version of the Android app, I think you should seriously consider implementing OTA (Over The Air) updates.
Iβm not sure what that entails, but I do know that the entire Android user base would be incredibly grateful. Please, wave your magic wand!
Christmas is comming to town...Regards from your number 2 fan.

OTA updates are allowed for patches.
This major version update would always need the flow through the Play Store.I am looking into it but not too fond (yet) of setting that up.
