Hi everyone!
It's finally time to tell you about the real MyRoute-app v6!
This is without a doubt the biggest update we have ever made. Over the past months almost every screen of the app has been rebuilt: from navigating to your library, from the route page to free drive. And we added a whole lot of new features along the way
Video's are available in English and Dutch!
This version will be available to you beta testers very soon. You don't have to do anything for it: it works with your current account, with all your routes and tracklogs, exactly like you are used to.
And then there is something else... But I'm saving that for the end of this post
The app you know, just better
Everything is still right where you left it. The home screen, your routes and tracklogs, search, round trips: it all works as easy as you are used to. It just looks a lot better
Every route, one page
Every route now has its own page. Take this RouteXpert roadbook tour from Hattem: the photos, the story, every waypoint and the comments, all in one place, with Navigate, the weather and the fly-through right at the top.
Relive your ride, fly through your route
Every tracklog now has a fly-through! Relive your ride in 3D: the camera flies along your line with the distance, the time and your altitude on screen, a height profile to scrub through, and your photos rising up right where you took them
And before a big ride? Fly through your route, and you know every bend and every pass before you even start the engine
Navigation, completely redesigned
Navigating is what MyRoute-app is all about, so this is where we put a lot of love. The entire navigation screen has been redesigned:
- Your next turn front and centre, with the road numbers just like you see them on the signs
- Your speed, the speed limit and your arrival time always in view
- The next waypoint and the next fuel station on your route at a glance
- Warnings for road signs ahead (hairpins, steep descents, falling rocks and more), each as you like it: off, a beep or spoken
- One sheet for the whole trip: your waypoints, skip a waypoint, add a stop, roadblocks and your audio settings
- Electric? The app plans your charging stops for you
Adding a stop while you ride is now really easy. Fancy fresh fish in Volendam? Pick a place along the way, and it simply becomes part of your route.
Hike, cycle and offroad
Big news for everyone who doesn't only ride on tarmac! Walking and cycling routes, and any route you want to ride offroad, now come with their own navigation: you follow the route's line and the app guides you along it.
- Tap Walk this route or Ride this route on a walking or cycling route, or Offroad on any other route
- On foot and by bike the app reads the turns from the route's line: on screen, with arrows on the map, and spoken ("In 200 m, turn right")
- You always see how far it is to the finish, and the app warns you as soon as you leave the route
- It works offline too
On MRA Routeplanner Next the turns even come straight from the OpenStreetMap engine, along the exact line of your route, in every travel mode, offroad included
No route at all? Just ride! Free drive now has its own sheet with your distance and time since you started, searching along the way, and saving a nice spot as a POI.
Your own map
Walking, cycling and driving now each have their own online map: OpenStreetMap, OpenCycleMap or the Outdoor map with its paths, tracks and contour lines. Outdoor for walking and OpenCycleMap for cycling are already set for you, and in free drive and offroad you can switch to Outdoor as well. You'll never look at a forest track the same way again
And the regular map got new colours too.CarPlay and Android Auto
With CarPlay or Android Auto connected, your phone can now be a remote: the next instruction, your arrival, the next waypoint and the trip's actions as large tiles. It even works with a handlebar controller.
Round trips
Generating a round trip is still just a few taps, and the result now shows everything you want to know at once. Never been this much fun to let us decide your next adventure!

MRA Routeplanner Next
One home for everything: your routes and tracklogs, your trips, your friends and your clubs. With the live rides of your friends and your recent routes right on the home screen.
MRA AI Routeplanner
Just tell the AI what you have in mind, for example "a weekend in the Black Forest, two days of curvy roads and a nice hotel for the night". It plans every day on real roads, including a place to sleep. You only save the days you like.
Trips
Every trip becomes a journal: the days, the routes you planned, the tracklogs you actually rode, your photos and your stories. Day by day, on one map.
Every tracklog, the whole story
And every tracklog tells the whole story: what you planned and what you rode, your write-up, your photos, the trip it belongs to and what your friends said.
Ride together, live
Share your ride live with friends and family, or ride as a group with everyone on one map. Send a quick message to the group, and the app reads it out to the riders while they ride.

Stays
The app recognises where you slept from your tracklogs. Publish a review of your campsite, hotel or B&B, and find the places other riders loved, with all their facilities.
Clubs & events
Join a club or an event, and every route of the ride is on your phone, kept up to date by the organiser. With a board to chat with the other members.
Garage
All your vehicles in one place. Your tracklogs keep the odometer up to date, and the app reminds you when the next service is due.
Weather along the route
See what the weather does along your route at the moment you pass by, and when the best moment is to leave.
Achievements
And yes: trophies, levels and leaderboards with your friends. Let's see who rides the most!
When?
MyRoute-app v6 arrives in the App Store and Play Store early November.
Beta access for the app is almost immediately for iOS and for Android we have to pray to GoogleThe beta of MRA Routeplanner Next opens on 2 November. Beta access is available from 26 October at beta.myrouteapp.com.

This looks all very promising, and I'm looking forward to trying it out!
It's clear there's a lot of hard work in this, and I'm confident it is a big step forward for the users and the app.I usually ride alone, and when not, I am always the only MRA user; so for me personally, the social features like messages and group riding etc. are not appealing (I have no doubt they're for others!)... But what I really want to try is the AI Routeplanner, and I like the weather forecast along the road a lot! So, in order to try those, I need to sign up (pay) for the beta, if I'm not mistaken.
@corjan-meijerink If I remember correctly, it is stated on the beta website that AI planner will not be part of the functionality that beta testers (that already were lifetime gold and lifetime mra navigation users) get to "keep" forever; but what about the weather feature? One of those (or both) would make me sign up happily, while "just" group-riding and collaboration, for me personally with my "solo riding profile", would not justify the fee.Edit: I just revisited the beta website and saw that "weather along the road" is part of the AI planner and thus excluded from the things beta testers will keep. So I'm hoping that there is going to be an AI planner lifetime offer/one-time fee rather than a subscription.

Congratulations
This update is a very big thing, it was a lot of work, I am more than aware of that, but the Web Planner update will also overwhelm a lot of users at first, it takes a lot of help and well-prepared training.

Quick question: when starting a route, you can choose between “Navigate” and “Offroad”. How does this work for routes that include both paved roads and offroad sections?
