Mirror Navigation Next to Tracer 9 GT+ display
-
Hi everybody,
I just picked up my new bike, a 2024 Tracer 9 GT+. I can connect my mobile to the Moto and use the Garmin Motorize App. Which is not too bad, but of course I´d like to use Navigation Next even more.
Here´s where it get´s tricky: the connection Garmin / Tracer is not using Carplay or Android Auto but direct connection using USB or the Tracer´s WiFi Hotspot.

Is there any chance, that the Devs maybe think about considering contacting Yamaha to talk about integration of NN? For me, that would be a dream... but of course I understand that this is no "casual" project.
On the other hand: Tracer sales are constantly increasing and could be a valueable addition to the customer base of MRA / NN... and who would want to ride with Garmin, when he could use NN?

Cheers from Austria,
André -

André@Erdna Oh - please excuse, but it's easier and with same effect, to pray to Good.
The Display software of bikes are proprietary! I can not imagine, bike manufacturers will be interested to open it for others.
Usually the manufacturer offers a supporting app, to get a connection to the bikes display. But again, each bike manufacturer has its own app.Sometimes, it would be possible to load a gpx file into the app, which sync it to the bikes display. But mostly only icons and instructions like: "in 50m turn right" will popup on the display. No map, no comfort.
I found it complicated and unhelpful. Therefore let me suggest: buy a cheap China phone, which isn't a tragedy in case it breakdown after 3 weeks. Better buy a fully featured, robust device, which is developed for use outdoors and on bikes. Then run MyRoute-App on it.

Hi Guzzist,
that´s exactly what I´ve been using on my old 2018 Tracer 900 GT with a Fossibot F101 Pro. Works great, but I always found it a little distracting to look down left. With the new Moto, Yamaha / Garmin show that it works on the main display.
I´d blame Yamaha here not to support Android Auto / Carplay on the Tracer 9 GT+ instead of having another not well thought solution, while the Moto itself is a blast.

...the second option (use a fully featured, robust device) was a massive game changer for me. Garmin disappointed me more and more on my long distance journeys.
At an exhibition, I could test the devices from manufacturer DMD; really amazing stuff

That are based on Android and have an own App with own maps - and you can run parallel also MyRoute-App. Together with an remote controller on the handlebar (connected by cable or Bluetooth) it's such a great solution - you will ask yourself, why you drove all the years before, without such a solution.May you will consider that too...

I think you will have a better chance asking in the Yamaha forum about AA/CP compatibility
