I know, the Web page of MRA-Routeplanner is under construction for renewal. But may it could be improved earlier:

    • If a route has been created by MRA-Routeplanner with Waypoints (Routepoints) and several POI.
    • Then, route has been saved locally by format gpx 1.1 (track, POI)
    • Then gpx file has been uploaded to MRA-Routeplanner as Route-track
(just to check before friends are going to use it by other navigation Apps/Devices)

After upload in MRA-Routeplanner, you can see simply a line as overlay on map.
Like a tracklog! But it was uploaded as Route-Track!

If you check the gpx file, you can see clearly all entered POI are included. So, export routine of MRA-Routeplanner works correct. But import routine omits the POIs contained therein!

If we have commitment about difference of Tracklogs and Route-Tracks - this is one!
I'm fine, if Tracklogs should be pure track, nothing else. But if we keep differences, a Rout-Track should respect and load POI, if they are in the file.

    Nothing is impossible ;-)

@Guzzist, I would welcome the opportunity to include POI during the import of a track. But for the purpose you explained above, it makes not much sense. If you underlay the route-track below a route to check if the shape is still identical, you already have the POI in the route. It makes no sense to display them twice. For people who like to navigate a route-track it would be worthwhile. Especially in combination with a feature to copy a route to a route-track (so you can skip the export/import routine).

I am just an enthusiastic MRA user, and hope you will be one too!

@Con-Hennekens ...hi Con, to clear up any misunderstanding: I don't want to underlay the route-track below a route to check if the shape is still identical...

But there are some friends, which want to use my routes (outside the MyRouteApp world). And they are used to navigate only by a track. And they are happy, if my gpx file contains additionally to the track also some POI.

Vice versa, if I (as user of complete MyRouteApp world) want to use gpx files with tracks and POI of my friends, I will be disappointed. MRA-Routeplanner is importing only the track (as Tracklog or as Route-Track, doesn't matter). Also existing POI in the gpx file will not be imported. That's the annoyance.

@Guzzist in my understanding the one who provides the gpx is using another app or program to export the gpx on his or hers side that doesn’t include POI’s

@Guzzist When I transfer a route to my XT(2) via the connector, the POIs are indeed included in the gpx file. The POIs can then be accessed in the Zumo and are visible on the screen. It is possible that they are not included when saving as.

This is already what's happening, a GPX1.1 export already contains POI that are published in the route.

Vice versa, if I (as user of complete MyRouteApp world) want to use gpx files with tracks and POI of my friends, I will be disappointed. That's true. An option to include POI would be logical.

That's not what this is about. The MRA webplanner, nor the MRA app include any POI that exist in the GPX at any import.

I don't understand your angle about the connector. A simple GPX export also includes POI.

@Marinus-van-Deudekom ...as I wrote: the POI are in the gpx file; I know to check the file.

@Hans-van-de-Ven-MR.MRA ...as I described: it's by file transfer - not wrote about connector.

@Con-Hennekens ....you did it understand correct: the export routine of MRA-Routeplanner deals with included POI (as expected). Vice versa, the import routine ignores existing POI in an gpx file.

I feel it as "incomplete". I will not say illogical, because may there is a logic, I want to understand 😉

Aha, that is so from the beginning. Poi are exported/ transfers with the connector, but not imported.

Maybe it will be possible within web 2.0
