I've subscribed to try Kurviger Tourer+. I already had TomTom Go, OsmAnd+, as well as Waze and Maps. They all work perfectly in CA/PP.
I think @Lluis-Arasanz might have suggested an interesting avenue for research. After so many years using Navigation, then Next, and now the complete package, it's a shame to have to look for alternatives to be able to travel with peace of mind. Especially when you have a group of 20 motorcycles behind you that trust the leader.

Same here. I decided to use the MyRoute App web planner and export my routes to OsmAnd+.
OsmAnd+ hasn’t missed a beat, being used exclusively through Android Auto, connected wirelessly. The connectivity issue between MyRoute App and Android Auto / CarPlay is an old one, and honestly, I doubt it will be fixed anytime soon.
The developers seem more focused on adding new features than on fixing this fundamental problem. Many users have complained about it, yet version after version, the issue is still there.
I’m not willing to risk mounting a phone worth over €1,000 on the handlebars just to use MyRoute App.I really hope it works properly one day, the way other apps already do.

I'd like to add that "this problem" is fundamental for less people each version. The amount of people having problems has decreased drastically over the last few versions, so in all honesty you cannot claim that nothing has been done about it.

No, I would certainly not advise that, I do not even put my 2 years old €600 phone on my handlebar. Instead I buy a fully rugged phone for €250 instead of some twice as expensive AA/CP device
and be done with it. -

We would appreciate positive contributions, not contributions that constantly try to cover up mistakes. Thank you. -

The comunication problem between MyRoute-App and AndroidAuto is not a rare one. And is not a connection problem in hardware device link, is between Software modules.
Same phone and same AndroidAuto device, and some different navigation apps:
Osmand: Works fine
Tomtom Go: Works Fine
Tomtom Amigo: Works Fine
Waze: Works fine
MyRoute-App: Freezes, lost connection. no map refresh...As I think, something about module data exchange between AndroidAuto App and MyRoute-App is not working fine. If when MyRoute is freezed I change to other app (navigation app or not) AA Screen works fine, but returning to MyRoute, is still freezed or, in best case, crashes with error

I am not trying to cover things up, I am merely disputing that nothing is done about it. If you think that is negative that's your opinion, not mine. I really do not have any interest in "covering things up".

Yes I know the symptoms very well, I have been testing that quite intensively in my car, many changes have been done as a result, and I can only say that in my experience, the (cabled) connection to Android Auto for me is rock-solid since the latest public release. It is quite frustrating that, despite MANY users claiming a really great AA/CP experience, there always seem to be a certain amount for who the solutions do not work...

@Con-Hennekens Using a cable on a motorcycle is completely absurd. I won't continue this pointless debate.

@b0hd1, Who is being the negative one here...

Did I say somewhere that you should use a cabled connection on a bike? Don't think so... I said most of my testing was done IN MY CAR by cabled connection. FYI I have tried the wireles dingle also: rock solid... I just wanted t rule out a possible influence in stability from the dongle. It seems not to exist (in my case). But yeah, like you said, a very pointless debate you made from it... -
I tested cabled and Wired with dongle, IOS 26.2 and Android 14.
Both with different errors, and with time to do a well test 'cause I was not driving, so with time to do testing.
IOS is more Stable than Android, but also has some bugs and workarounds to implement.
And here, we are discussing if this errors are a real problem or not, and gouping our voice to standup a flag for development. We're no telling that App is a bad one, or worse than any other; I'm a Lifetime of Planner and also Next, so my first interest is to have a good, solid-as-a-rock, fast and stable app to use every day.
Development priority is not my objective, only to help to increase task list to arrive to good port.Regards,

Just because you don’t use Android Auto doesn’t mean others shouldn’t. For those of us who do use it, this is still a real issue, it still is "a problem" !
@Con-Hennekens said in Problema Car play:

Yes, it has—because many users have migrated to other apps (OsmAnd, Calimoto, Kurviger, TomTom), which work perfectly with Android Auto, without excuses.

Thats not a sollution for me, and others, to buy and carry around another device when you can connect wirelessly to a factory built in display (Africa Twin) !!

Exactly my point. I don’t understand why people on this forum are trying to cover up issues instead of helping to identify the root cause—just because they don’t use the app with Android Auto / CarPlay. That doesn’t help users or the developers.

- I do use Android Auto
- I do understand that you want to use your built in AA/CP gadget (I do too, in my car)
- I have been extensively testing that the past half year
- I am quite confident that I helped devs more on this issue than you did
- your claim abou migrating is BS
- I am not the negative one here, you seem to be though
Let's rest this pointless mud-throwing here, shall we?

In another thread I was reminded on a simple trick to rule out problems with AA/CP built-in GPS units. It might be worth to see what it does in your specific problem cases @Lluis-Arasanz, @b0hd1, @Adrian-Avram and possibly others
In Android system settings goto Apps - All Apps - search for Android Auto - tap Android Auto - Permissions - tap Location - Disable this permission - go back yo your main screen - force close the MRA app and reopen it
There is most likely a similar option for iPhones and CarPlay, but I am not familiar with those. I know this sounds counterintuitive, but bear with me. The idea behind this, is that Android Auto loses it's permission to use the AA/CP built in GPS, the MRA app will automatically fall back to using your phone's GPS. Let's see what it does after this, if no improvement, reverse the setting. Personally I do this, because my Ford Sync3 headend does not communicate speed information correctly. We have seen all kinds of crazy stuff happening due to faulty communication by some AA/CP devices, up to driving backwards completely. And yes, often other apps work correctly, but they have hundreds of developers hunting for workarounds. MRA does not

Take for sure I'll test this.
But, have you noted that this reply is someone we expect to have?
This one, even in case not working for us,
- explain how AA uses Location,
- address a workaround for AA Aplications
- and why, even if this workarond sounds "bad", must be taken into account.
This kind of answers is what I expect from an Alpha Tester. Great!
Regards!!!

@Con-Hennekens Yes sir!! Now that's more like it!!! This is what I call trying to provide solutions and making valuable contributions. Bravo. I'll try it this afternoon. I have a trip of just over an hour and I'll be able to run several tests. I'll let you know the results.
Thanks again.

Thanks guys, mind you I have never intended a mud sling conversation. I think I am contributing positively to this community an almost insane amount. Then when someone claims me to be negative or narrowminded, I simply think that's not true and can get a little defensive about it. Please keep in mind that all alpha testers are volunteers and get nothing out of it, except great appreciation from MRA, it's devs and hopefully from the community.
I am curious to the outcome of your testing.

@Con-Hennekens I think I've also put you on the defensive, and I apologize. Look at my signature. For over five years, I've had a Telegram group dedicated exclusively to MRA with more than 500 members, in addition to over 1,000 followers on the MRA web group. So we're all in the same boat!

Managed to get my hands on a Bluetooth dongle (Buddy Play 2) today. I’ve pushed the app to its limits wherever I could, and while driving a route and an A2B, I didn’t encounter any issues.

@Rob-Verhoeff You're so lucky. Others with air conditioning are still having problems. I've attached a photo from right now with my car stopped. Look at the speed it's showing. The screen is completely frozen...
