Problema Car play
-
Ciao.
Grazie. -

Grazie.@Vincenzo-Attardo It's failing me constantly too. It happens in three different cars I regularly use, as well as on my motorcycle (I'm currently using a Chigee AIO-6, but it also fails on every other device I've tried). It's always connected wirelessly. Other colleagues are experiencing the same issue. Hopefully, the fantastic Myrouteapp team can find a solution.

@Rob-Verhoeff
I'used on my car, with two different phones , android and iPhone, and android with both, cable and wireless. Myroute-app is not stable, no matter if I start route on phone or in CP/AA.
Is not a battery problem, I use MyRoute on this same phone when I ride on Motrorbike with NO problem. But connected to CP/AA is not so stable, but I have to share that iPhone is more stable than Android. In same phones, other apps connected by CP/AA are not affected by this problem so all items are pointing to interaction between CP/AA and myroute-app application.
I, as myroute-App user, don’t ,t want to have an app with basic problems that make it useless. Really I use it near 1 or 2 times in a month on CP/AA and my experience is telling me that better don’t use it on CP/AA.
I will use it directly on phone, but don’t forget that CP/AA systems are here to be a real option to play.
How I, as a Beta user, can to help to detect this errors? Can logs be shared after killing app? Any way to help will be applied.
Best regards

I join @Lluis-Arasanz in his offer. As a veteran beta user , I offer my time, knowledge, and dedication to finding solutions. I believe the MyRouteApp user community deserves it.

@Lluis-Arasanz I have no experience with AA because I do not have an Android device. My experiences with iPhone and wired CP are good.

@Rob-Verhoeff Great! Can you run several tests wirelessly? MyRouteApp is impossible to use on Android Auto wirelessly. Let's work together to fix what's not working!
As an alpha tester, I think you should broaden the range of tests. That way, all variables are exposed to potential errors. Thanks! -

I use iPhone also, and there are some problems too.
A lot of them when iPhone lost data connection, even having maps on device. Also, if you try to start a route on CP with no data connection, a message shows it’s not possible
I think more test is necessary to find out some bugs on CP/AA
In this thread, post #13, I explain what I find on last trip

@Rob-Verhoeff A full test would be very constructive to get a comprehensive view of whether or not it's working correctly, not just a partial one.

️@b0hd1 I agree, but then you must be able to test wireless, and I can't!

I’m not a good programmer, but my job as IT Manager show me to afford problems in different ways, so here I put my point of view, even with no deep phone programming knowledge. Perhaps a different thinking, brings new ideas to solve this.
So this is what I thinks about:
The problem is not the link between phone and CP/AA. This Link only connects this two devices, and no matter of how is done is the root cause of fail.
Knowing that there is a embebed software module in phone that acts between mobile apps and hardware CP/AA, perhaps the freeze is caused by how MyRoute-app sends data to this module.
Other Apps works fine with this software module so is not a problem of connection between phone and CP/AA hardware.@Corjan-Meijerink , is possible that myRoute App send data to CP/AA module at a different rate than this module expects to? Freeze and errors don’t happens always at same time or n seconds after app start, but they appears for MyRoute while other apps are working fine.
I think that a check or review on this could be a good start point.
Best regards

@Lluis-Arasanz Thank you very much, Lluís, for trying to contribute other perspectives in order to find solutions and not just focus on what already works, since the latter can only mask the program's shortcomings and therefore hinder progress toward a satisfactory result for the thousands of future CA/AA users.
My groups are very grateful for your testing, even though you are not potential user of this particular way of using the MyRouteApp browser.

I've subscribed to try Kurviger Tourer+. I already had TomTom Go, OsmAnd+, as well as Waze and Maps. They all work perfectly in CA/PP.
I think @Lluis-Arasanz might have suggested an interesting avenue for research. After so many years using Navigation, then Next, and now the complete package, it's a shame to have to look for alternatives to be able to travel with peace of mind. Especially when you have a group of 20 motorcycles behind you that trust the leader.

Same here. I decided to use the MyRoute App web planner and export my routes to OsmAnd+.
OsmAnd+ hasn’t missed a beat, being used exclusively through Android Auto, connected wirelessly. The connectivity issue between MyRoute App and Android Auto / CarPlay is an old one, and honestly, I doubt it will be fixed anytime soon.
The developers seem more focused on adding new features than on fixing this fundamental problem. Many users have complained about it, yet version after version, the issue is still there.
I’m not willing to risk mounting a phone worth over €1,000 on the handlebars just to use MyRoute App.I really hope it works properly one day, the way other apps already do.

I'd like to add that "this problem" is fundamental for less people each version. The amount of people having problems has decreased drastically over the last few versions, so in all honesty you cannot claim that nothing has been done about it.

No, I would certainly not advise that, I do not even put my 2 years old €600 phone on my handlebar. Instead I buy a fully rugged phone for €250 instead of some twice as expensive AA/CP device
and be done with it. -

We would appreciate positive contributions, not contributions that constantly try to cover up mistakes. Thank you. -

The comunication problem between MyRoute-App and AndroidAuto is not a rare one. And is not a connection problem in hardware device link, is between Software modules.
Same phone and same AndroidAuto device, and some different navigation apps:
Osmand: Works fine
Tomtom Go: Works Fine
Tomtom Amigo: Works Fine
Waze: Works fine
MyRoute-App: Freezes, lost connection. no map refresh...As I think, something about module data exchange between AndroidAuto App and MyRoute-App is not working fine. If when MyRoute is freezed I change to other app (navigation app or not) AA Screen works fine, but returning to MyRoute, is still freezed or, in best case, crashes with error

I am not trying to cover things up, I am merely disputing that nothing is done about it. If you think that is negative that's your opinion, not mine. I really do not have any interest in "covering things up".

Yes I know the symptoms very well, I have been testing that quite intensively in my car, many changes have been done as a result, and I can only say that in my experience, the (cabled) connection to Android Auto for me is rock-solid since the latest public release. It is quite frustrating that, despite MANY users claiming a really great AA/CP experience, there always seem to be a certain amount for who the solutions do not work...
