Possible incorrect instruction - how to check after the event?
-
I was using MRA today and received what I believe was an incorrect instruction.
Is there a way to recreate the route instructions so I can check if it was human error or a data/machine error?
If it is an error who do I report it to? MRA or HERE?For interest it was just north of Nothum, Luxembourg. The instruction was:
- turn right and then take the first left
The instruction should have been take second left, (follow the top blue arrow), but I went first left as instructed (red arrow). Not a disaster, but quite irritating at the time since it is a dual carrageway at that point.

I do get such wrong instructions also, not on a frequent basis but just now and then they pop up. It even doesn't matter when i'm driving in Holland or Belgium, Germany or other places.First things first, can you place a link to that specific route so we can check that area for anything you missed unnoticed.
Secondly, i don't think you can recreate the route in MRA to check whether the route is okay or you did something wrong. The only thing you can do is check the waypoints if they are placed accordingly.

I had a similar experience in the UK. Travelling north from Folkstone on the M25 the instruction told me to use the 2 outside lanes to access the M11, it should have been the 2 inside lanes.
I reported this to Here and within 24 hours was notified that the error had been corrected. -
Assuming that your route and shaping point where correct it’s a map error so report it to Here

Looks like the map has no error.

@Jörgen, no, but the instruction seems to have.
@richtea999, I can imagine that the distances between these directional changes are so close that only the last instruction gets announced. -

The instruction, I'm pretty sure, was a single one with two parts: "Turn right then take the first left..."

hi @richtea999 When I simulate your route & get to the junction where you have the issue, I think the voice instructions can easily lead to a bit of confusion
I have the app set to repeat the voice instructions 3 times
For the first 2 sets of voice instructions it says "Turn right on to Baywener street & then turn left", it does not say first or second
The third repetion of the instructions says "Turn right onto Baywener street & then turn left towards Bastonge"So the only way to know which way to really go is to look at the app map or if you heard the third instruction follow the sign for Bastonge

@Brian-McG Ah, good work, Brian!
I only use 2 voice prompts (to minimise distractions) so that may well be the problem.
I have changed to 3 prompts.
