Update 5.0 - Updated beta version
-
Hi all!

Thanks so much for all the feedback over the past week.
This won't be a flashy post with nice screenshots, just a very formal and boring changelog of all the adjustments we made, issues we fixed and features we added.Without all your feedback, the public release would not be as successful as it will be now. The best part of everything is, that the majority of the feedback were all relative small issues

That shows that the foundation on which we worked so hard on, is well built.New features
- Position indicator start screen now aligns with your preference regarding color / scale / accuracy circle
- Hide buttons while navigating by tapping a blank space on the map
- Add a stop while navigating by long pressing anywhere / tapping a map POI.
- Added free drive for cycle / walking routes
- Free drive for regular / scenic routes is not promoted as such but can be launched by long pressing the navigate button
Minorities
- Styling improvements
- Added travelmode change button to some places where this made sense
- Decreased the width of the on map menu's in landscape
- Improved experience while offline enabled / not having internet
- Allow changing camera mode in home screen
- Allow closing Android app with the back button when on the home screen
- Stability CarPlay / Android Auto
- Improvements in-app routeplanner. Not perfect yet it seems for all devices / orientations but definitely improved. Further work coming.
- Improvements orientation of position indicator in landscape mode. Not perfect yet it seems for all devices / orientations but definitely improved. Further work coming.
- Moved tracklog button to another place while navigating (aligns with current release version and better for smaller screens)
- Android Auto longer duration allowed to activate audio session in order to prevent loss of first syllables when receiving audio instructions
Fixed issues
- Stuck zoom level after zooming out all the way / zooming in all the way using bluetooth controllers or on screen buttons
- Resume navigation prompt not shown in landscape
- Resume navigation overlapping useful buttons on the map
- Auto zoom / camera issues in CarPlay and Android Auto
- Camera behavior after rotating phone
- Pause (meta) icons of markers not being displayed while navigating
- Markers and pause icons not being displayed when fully zoomed in
- POI scaling did not work as expected
- Broken app when launching after CarPlay / Android Auto was started
- Navigation could be started for walking / cycle mode (which is not allowed)
- Android Auto "invisible" buttons / wrong color
- Jumpy behavior location indicator on home screen when moving
- Search menu showing an error as soon as you opened it
- Green lines shown incorrectly on your route
- Stuck camera mode button
That's it!

Quite a lot of changes thanks to you all.
Looking forward to another feedback round! We are expecting to submit this release next week Wednesday / Thursday to aim for public release on November 3rd!

Have a great weekend!
Cheers,

Version 5.0.0 420 ready for iOS in TestFlight

Great update. Keep up the good work

-
Thank you for the iOS update 5.0.0 (420)

Wow, you guys worked hard!!! Great job

-
Brilliant job. Thank you and well done. On with more testing. Really like the free ride for routes option with long press of the ‘navigate’ button - great option.

Good morning, there is something strange with the start menu on iPhone and iPad (with Routeplanner, Roundtour, Target, etc.)
The menu moves up to the edge by itself, step by step, and then falls back down, then moves up again. This happens continuously. It is particularly noticeable in landscape mode more than in portrait.
Video from iPad: https://youtu.be/_XdN5WJyMWg
Why is it still not possible to move the menu down at least one third of the screen?
To be honest, the daily greeting is a nice idea, but it just takes up space. In my opinion, it would be enough to have it when you start the app.
-
I can also confirm, with both devices, the iPhone and iPad, somehow irregular light swimming movement of the menu on the display

@Corjan-Meijerink Quick question. I like the new feature of ‘Free drive for regular / scenic routes is not promoted as such but can be launched by long pressing the navigate button’ but is this available in CarPlay when selected on the iPhone? This does not appear to show for me. Will this be enabled downstream if not available just yet?

@Dave-J-0 no, that isn’t yet available yet on CP / AA.
That is the ambition when we add a dedicated free drive mode in the app now too. The architectural foundation of CarPlay / Android Auto requires a route to be loaded at almost all times.
We still even need to investigate the possibilities of what a free drive can show at all. That said, a map in CP / AA with a route visible and no navigation will be possible for sure

I only understood that with the longer pressing now through your hint here
, thank you, that's how it is with the E to D translation in the great languages, sometimes you don't understand it correctly.

Das mit dem länger drücken, habe ich erst jetzt verstanden durch deinen Hinweis hier
, danke, so ist das mit der E zu D Übersetzung in den tollen Sprachen , manchmal versteht man es nicht richtig.

Great function with the longer press of the navigation, is like the follow mode if you have no route you can the hotel as an example route with two WP systems, start the route press the navigation longer and already you have the maps as the basis of the road to follow.
Hope that's exactly how it works ..! Unfortunately, the weather does not allow the test on the motorcycle at the moment. VG

VG
