Ticket went in tonight...see what happens.....Thank you all who responded and had feedback for me, I really do appreciate it and I do want to see this product get me from point A to point B with minimal issues!!!!

@D-Griffin, In my view there is nothing wrong with that route, and I cannot think of anything being wrong with a route that would result in what you describe. To be honest I never heard of anything like it, at least not in any version that starts with a 4.x.x. Since you are using a Samsung S25, your version cannot be older than that I suppose?
The app asks for "exact location" permissions at first start. Did you by any chance decline that? Please check the location permissions on the app, from within the Android system settings.

Con, I have never seen this.....When I plan a route I put waypoint #1 a long way away from the start of the route. I have never been asked permission or declined it. If you look at my route my start is away from where we leave. I do this because who knows with the phones what's gonna happen, so I give a bit of a buffer zone, to make sure all is on and working. In this case Sunday morning my 1st waypoint is a good mile away from where we started, and it just never would find the route from the time we left the hotel. Once past waypoint #1 it finally caught up, but just long enough to start veering off route. I pulled over got on Google maps (which had close to same route planned in MRA) we all followed that for 3.5 hours with ZERO map issues.....Got to lunch ate, and did another 4.5 hours home with ZERO Google map issues, no stress and actually liked to be on my bike! No veering off route, no icon going so far off of route that my planned route leaves my screen leaving me totally lost. Con forgive my shortness! I understand you are here helping and I greatly appreciate you and your time. However on my bike sometimes leading 10-15 riders and MRA fails......not cool. I just want someone who programs/edits or what ever this MRA to take me serious and help me out.....Ticket went in tonight, will see what happens. Thanks again for your help and your time, MRA is lucky to have you, and I hope in the near future I can be there helping new guys stumble thru!!!!

@D-Griffin, it sounds perfectly fine how you go about your route, that for sure is not the culprit. Now I understand that the phone keeps calculating a route to a point just a mile away? That seems to be a clear indication the app does not know where you are, just like with "veering of a route". That's very strange, since gMaps obviously works okay. That's why I still think it is a permission problem.
Please check this:
-
What is the version number of your app. To find this open the app, click on the profile icon in the top right and scroll to the bottom. The version number is there.
-
Close the app, and go into your android system settings. Goto Location, ensure it is enabled. In location permissions look for the MyRoute-app. Ensure permissions are enabled and always on. Also check if Exact location is enabled.
I am looking forward to your findings.
Also @Marinus-van-Deudekom his remark about a secondary screen is a valid one. His question means whether you are using an Android Auto compatible screen, instead of the app natively on your phone. If you do,
that could perhaps indicate a problem with the GPS built into the Android Auto device. -

As for the second screen I Bluetooth to a Android Auto/Car Play stereo. It Is a Soundstream V2 motorcycle radio. When the icon starts to veer, or take me off route, I click my phone screen on and the phone and the radio screen are doing the same thing. All the radio does is mirror my phone screen. The radio itself has no GPS built into it and is doing no navigating. I also have a Rokform case on my phone. I reached out to Samsung's help line and they suggested sometimes in very rare cases a phone case can affect GPS signal. Yesterday I took off the case, but I still had the same results with the icon veering off route.

@Con-Hennekens doing a little research here is what I found on MRA and the second pic down where the icon is off the route and in the lake is exactly what I am seeing on a regular basis.....And apparently others are too!!

@D-Griffin, Yes I know, but that was many versions ago, and the reason I asked for your version number
The radio itself has no GPS built into it and is doing no navigating.
I have been looking up your device:
https://motorcycleaudio.com/collections/harley-davidson-headunits/products/v2-headunit
and I learned that actually it DOES have built in GPS, and it DOES offer native Navigation through IGO Primo. What I would like to know is whether the MRA app also veers off while navigating without this Android Auto connection. I bet it does not
My Ford Sync3 has a very similar problem, which I mitigated like this:
Go into your Android Settings, apps, all apps, search for Android Auto, Permissions, Locations, deby location permissions to Android Auto. If you do this, the MRA app will fall back to the phone its location.
Please report back. I am very interested in your findings!

@Con-Hennekens
Out of interest, if one was to turn off location permissions in AA then surely MRA could not run in offline mode, or could it?? -

Offline or online, the Locations Service will fall back to the Phones GPS. GPS reception works independently from Cell network, or internet availability.

Thanks for replying. That did occur to me after posting but nice to have confirmation.

@Con-Hennekens Con the igo maps only use GPS when activated. yes ut has its own Nav on the radio, however not when i am using the MRA app. at that point the GPS on the radio is off and not in use. Yes I still have the veering off route issue if i don't use my radio. i have a local route near Lake Erie that goes off route everytime i go. ot will put the icon out in Lake Erie. i have been on this rpute many times on my bike and my truck. truck has no NAV or anything in it. so at that point im using jist my phone and it still goeas off course.

I dont see deby locations?

Do you mean....Deny locations? What does this do?, Will it still mirror on my screen on bike?

@D-Griffin I think @Con-Hennekens meant to change it to "don't allow".
-
Indeed: don't allow location permission to Android Auto.
Excuse me the typo -

@Con-Hennekens Con what is it I am doing here when not allowing location permission with Android Auto? Will it affect the Google maps? Will it affect my work truck which has NAV on it? I will try but I just want to understand what it is I am doing...thanks
-
@Con-Hennekens OK Con I "Dont allow" location permissions. I have the bike out in my driveway and this is the first time the MRA arrow icon is even close to my home! Normally the arrow icon shows my 2-3 miles away from my home. So maybe we are on to something here. Hope to try it out tonight...Will report back...

@D-Griffin I don't think it will affect the truck navigation since the phone AA app is not involved. As for Goggle Maps, I suspect it overrides the setting and uses the phone GPS rather than the AA GPS. Cheers!

@Con-Hennekens Ok went on a short ride which I will attach to this post if you want to look at it. This is a ride I go on a lot good hotdog place at the end of the route! Every time I go, my icon wanders, I always shrugged this off as I'm so close to Lake Erie I thought that was why. Today I left, as soon as I fired up the bike screen came up and I clicked on the ride. It almost immediately found me and told me how far to go to make my next turn on to Lloyd rd. Right off the bat, this thing has never found me this close to my home! I always place my start of route miles away from my home due to that reason. So I went down and followed the on screen directions. In the past I always veer off route between waypoints 1&2 and always between #3&4. At this point I'm usually so aggravated I just ignore the screen and follow the roads I already know. Today the route was followed with no issues at all. I even made a few turns to pull it off route, It almost immediately tried to re route me and get me back to my route. I also noticed on the ride the "footages" to the next turn were really pretty accurate. They never have been in the past! Today I was at a light waiting to turn, told me 45 feet so i rolled up a little, changed to 40 feet. Since I started using MRA it never has been this accurate. So here is a copy of my short route...

@Con-Hennekens I want to thank you for being patient and working with me. I'm not 100% ready to put the "fixed" stamp on it yet! Few more trips and we will see. In a nut shell, can you break down what we did by turning off the locations to android auto? What is this making my phone do or not do? I am just curious because down the road If I have any issues Id like to know if this is what is affecting any issue I have. Also should this app be able to "hold a route" like Google maps does, regardless of twist and turns? Also will I still get the real time updates on my MRA? I hope we hit on something here and we have this thing working as it should! We will be out this weekend so I will give it an all day test. When you are out riding, do you have issues with it veering off route? Thank you again for your help, you are the man!!!!! -

Exactly that
@D-Griffin, Glad to hear things improved by this much! To me this is "proof" that your AA device indeed does have a GPS chipset, that gets used when connected through Android Auto, and it does not function properly. Just like I suspected.
What my "trick" does is merely prohibit the Android Auto app on your phone from using the GPS chipset built into your AA device. As a result, the Location Service on your phone falls back to using the phone's GPS chipset. This can always be reversed without problem, and yes, it will have effect on Google Maps to but you will likely not notice that.
The reason Google maps did not suffer from the same problem as the MRA app, probably lies in a workaround implemented in gMaps (and some other apps) that identifies problematic hardware and makes the choice to use the phone's hardware instead of the AA device's built-in one automatically. That's just an assumption though.
So, it is not really "fixed", but "worked around" and it enables you to use the app normally just like in my case. In my own case the problem was a little different. My AA GPS would not deliver correct speed information. From another case (also a Ford Sync system) I even heard of it driving backwards. The GPS stream literally was reversed... Isn't technology a beautiful thing?
