    Hi all,

I'm a long term user and advocate of MyRouteApp ... and I generally use it to plan long routes (typically 8-10,000km in a 5-6 week summer tour).

My routes can get quite detailed, and recalculation in slow in MRA - and is especially frustrating when I want to search for a new point to potentially add to a map. I put in a suggestion for a development point a long time ago. It was well received at the time, but is now all but invisible. I have many more suggestions in my sandbag, but there's no point putting them forward if they're not going to lead anywhere.

From time to time, I check in for news of developments in the WebPlanner area, but there seems little focus on moving it forward ... other than adding multiple routes etc. ... unless I've missed something .. which is the point of this post.

Is there (and if there is, can we get to see) a Roadmap showing which areas of MRA are being actively worked on? It would be great to see a list of 'accepted' suggestions, and when they may see the light of day.

    Cheers, Jem

@Jem-Cotton we have hired a new employee few months ago aimed to research a major website overhaul.

I am expecting some more detailed outlined steps to be announced in this month / early next month.

Hi Corjan. You've made my heart sing a little !

I spend a lot of time on the planner. It's a fantastic tool, but I would really like to see it move forward a bit, primarily in terms of ease of use, speed and convenience.

I look forward to your upcoming announcement, and will spend a little time beforehand putting together some ideas for the funnel.

Cheers, and keep up the good work !

Jem, I assume you don't plan your trip in one long route??
You can "split" the route into daily / weekly routes in the MRA "toolbox"

          @Bruce-McKinlay

          Hi Bruce.

In effect, I do both. An overall route is a great way to view the shape of the trip and distances involved, and make sweeping changes to meet our goals of distance, time, key places to visit etc.

I leave this overview in place for quite a while, so that we can make changes close up to when we leave ... then I split the journey into day routes and share them amongst the troops each morning using WhatsApp.

So far it's a strategy that's worked very well for multiple trips and close on 20k miles of travel.

MRA is close to being an ideal partner in this area, and I still think it's the best on the market ... but one or two simple tweaks could make my life even easier and more enjoyable ....

@Corjan-Meijerink It's been a while since last time that I've heard news about updates for web planner (this thread, probably, so six month?) and for the app (six weeks in the 4.4.0-thread). Is there a official roadmap somewhere with a feature- and timeline for web and app development? I'm sure, behond the curtain, you and the team are working, but comminication-wise, I wish, there was more transparency so I would know better what (not) to expect.

Hi. When we had our last interchange about prospects for the web planner, I was cautiously optimistic. Cautious because we've had many promises in the years that I've been using it, of a big nd much overdue overhaul - not tinkering with the appearance, but addressing core usability.

In the event, the expected 'announcement this or next month' now feels like a brush off, and accordingly I am feeling cheated that I invested in a lifetime membership in a product that is in effect largely stagnant.

It's such a pity as for very little work in real terms, big improvements could be made and the result would I'm sure validate the faith put in the development team by countless lifetime gold membership users.

Sorry to sound negative, but we've been here too many times.

@Jem-Cotton you don’t sound negative. Bluntly said you are and while you’re at it simplyfying a very complex taks. In my opinion you show very little respect to our hardworking team of Devs. I don’t recognise at all that they don’t keep their promisses. I think they give you a realustic insite of what you can expert.
Is the webplanner perfect. I agree that’s not the case and as Corjan already explained an extra staffmember is put to work with the soul task of making a better webplanner. Since he’s working just a couple of months it would be real good if the first results could be presented.
Then the investirent in a lifetime gold membership. If you’ve yours that long I can guess I can compaire it with mine. That’s not an awfull lot of money regarding what you’ve got and all the fun you gad with the routes that you’ve made.
My guess is that clearing them on is more helpfull than brushing them of.

@Corjan-Meijerink May I bring this up, again, since I was not able to find better information, yet: So, is there a roadmap, a timeline or a prioritized list of upcoming features/bug fixes publicly available? Just to clarify, I am not saying "nothing" is done, but rather trying to get a better understanding of what I could realistically (not) expect in the near and farer future, development-wise. 🙂

my idea is that: it is not best way to go for quick and dirty but better is take time and make it realy good also under the hood. there are a lot of wishes and the risk is that you get spagetti software.

                          It could be worse!

You could have paid £600 for a Garmin zumo XT for them to leave everyone with no development even when issues are pointed out to them and whats causing the issue they just brush it off and do nothing!

At least MRA is getting developed
