Offline mode issue
-
I know that I must be doing something wrong, but I cannot get the offline mode to work properly. I do have the most current maps downloaded for the areas where I'll be traveling, and I have Offline Navigation enabled. I also have my routes synched to my device (DMD T865X).
If I disconnect from the Internet I can see the map and route using the HERE map, but the resolution is very poor when I zoom in. Obviously the other maps don't work. If I establish my Internet connection and turn off Offline Navigation everything works properly, however the HERE map resolution is still very poor when zoomed in. All of the other maps appear just fine as long as I have an Internet connection and Offline Navigation disabled.
I'm starting a 3 week trip tomorrow and this is the first time that I've tried offline navigation and I'm concerned about what's going to happen when I lose cell coverage.
Thanks for your help!

@Steve-Jarrell you are looking only at the front layout, and that requires internet.
After going offline, go to your Routes, select the route and hit Navigate !
Only then it will be opened in the Here offline maps from the phone !
You cannot navigate using OSM or TomTom maps!
I wish that they were replaced by Here (the offline maps downloaded into the phone !) -
@Steve-Jarrell In doing a little more testing it seems like the problem is the latest version of the offline version of the maps that I just downloaded for my regions are very low quality when zoomed in. I'm using the United States maps for North Carolina, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine and Massachusetts. If someone could confirm this I would appreciate it!

Thanks! I was just opening the route and not selecting navigate!

@Adrian-Avram Just a couple of sentences in the documentation would be a huge help in understanding how the offline HERE maps work (and when they don't), and would have saved me several hours of experimenting (and frustration).
A few things that I think need to be documented re: the offline maps:
-
They only work when you're navigating, not when you just open a route to view it (when you're many miles away from your route that you want to view you don't want to choose navigate).
-
If you select the HERE map when you're in online mode, MRA doesn't actually use the downloaded high resolution maps and the resolution is very poor. I'm not sure what HERE map MRA is using in this case but it's definitely not the hi-res downloaded maps as all of the other maps are of much higher quality.

The HERE map selection ONLY works properly when you're offline, you have downloaded your maps and synched your routes, and then ONLY when you're navigating.
To me this was very confusing as when I use the web based route planner I'm always using the HERE map selection, so I just assumed that the HERE map in the app should be the one that I should choose whether or not I'm online or offline.
If I'm confused about 1-3 above hopefully someone will correct me. I'm here to learn!
Thanks again for your help!!
