Waypoints not skipping
-
A couple of issues yesterday (using a Pixel 9A & Chigee BMW Android Auto Unit). I have 'skip waypoint automatically' checked but the route was bypassing these and then trying to re-route back to the start. I did stop and re-start the route by skipping waypoints manually up to the point I was at on the ride and it then behaved ok, however I'd expect it to jump straight into the route without doing this? Has anyone experienced this and what if any settings should I look at?
Thanks, -
@Andrew-Dickerson sounds like you may not have actually passed 'stop one' (via point 1 with the hand), likely by having it placed exactly where you are, it may be trying to get back to that as it is a hard stop point. If this is the case, either place via point 1 further down the route so you actually go through it, or delete it once you start the route.

You can skip (
) skipping multiple waypoints manually by long-pressing the one waypoint where you want to rejoin the route in an active navigation screen.

@Con-Hennekens This is not possible in Android Auto. There you can only skip the next waypoint. For skipping multiple waypoint you have to repeat the removal per point. When you want to skip multiple waypoints in one go you have to use your phone.

@Léon-Hassing, Ah yes, I missed that part, but indeed that's one of the limitations of AA/CP devices...

@GT-JWR Think you could be right on this - usually start and finish at my address but on this ride started at my friends house and could well of not quite reached this point before beginning the route. Will keep an eye on this next time. Thanks

@Andrew-Dickerson
I don't want to show my home town to everyone in published routes.
That's why my tours always start some distance away.2 possibilities for surprises.
If this waypoint is not crossed, then rerouting to it will occur as with all with the hand symbol.
The 1st waypoint should therefore always be approached and then travelled over.It is even funnier if the destination point (with the hand symbol) is a little closer than the starting point.
In this case, the system navigates to the nearest point (if activated) when automatically returning to it. The journey is then very short.
