Tun. du Col de Tende... Cause/bug at MRA or HERE?
-
Ik krijg het met geen mogelijkheid voor elkaar om met de MRA Routeplanner door deze tunnel te navigeren. Lukt het iemand anders wel?
--
I can't seem to navigate through this tunnel with the MRA Routeplanner. Does anyone else have any success?

The tunnel is closed.
You can see it with the traffic overlay map and on TomTom route planner.

The tunnel is closed.
So is the Mont Blanctunnel! If you disable seasonal closures, you can go through that tunnel. That should also work in this tunnel, right?

Sometimes turning on seasonal closures will also work with roads closed for construction, but not always. I think it depends on how the closure is classified.

@Nick-Carthew Do you have another example of this? I've never experienced that before...

What would you like an example of?

Hi @CD130
As Nick already mentioned, this road is closed at the beginning and the end of the tunnelroad.
You can find actual information at : https://www.viamichelin.com/maps/traffic/italy/piedmont/cuneo/panice_soprana-12015.I hope this information helps you further.

Tried it out with some road closures in the Netherlands. I can bypass all of them by disabling seasonal closures.

@Rob-Verhoeff
I understand your point well, but even with disabling seasonal closures and adding extra waypoints, it's still not possible to navigate through the tunnel. But why would you want to do this? If you manipulate the route that much and then decide to drive it, you'll face the problem that you simply can't pass through.The only way to force through the tunnel is by skipping waypoints.
But even that doesn't solve the problem that the tunnel is closed. -

But why would you want to do this?
I would like to have it calculated through the tunnel so that I can properly prepare my trip, which I want to drive later when the tunnel is open again, in terms of travel time and distance.

An example of a location that is closed and where it really is not possible to navigate over it.
-
@CD130 No, I don't have any other examples to show you, but over the years of using MRA I have seen examples where the Seasonal closure tool does not work.

This is what https://mapcreator.here.com/ is showing:

Message to the MRA team (@Corjan-Meijerink): Is there anything you can do about this behind the scenes at MRA? Please make the routeplanner so that we can plan routes ourselves. Also on roads that are currently closed, but will be open again in a few months.
-
@CD130 use the skip function to cause a connection between waypoints at both ends of the tunnel.
-
@CD130, Personally I like the reroute A LOT better...
-
@Con-Hennekens Hahaha totally agree

I do not see how... That is where the seasonal closures are for explicitly. In this case it looks to be a permanent closure in the base mapdata. I do not think there is a way around that (in the metaphorical sense )
On here: https://www.wegenwiki.nl/Tunnel_de_Tende
I read that the tunnel was badly damaged by floods in 2020. Reopening is scheduled for the end of this year. So the permanent closure is probably deliberate too... -

It would be great if we could also use offline maps in the new web planner! After all, all closures are included in the online maps, right?
-
@Rob-Verhoeff, I seriously predict you are in for a surprise! But I guess that will not be anytime soon. I am not sure however how that would change a permanently closed road/tunnel? My guess is that, because of the more permanent character of this tunnel closure they closed it in the base mapdata, You would be downloading that closure also, just like with the online map. I don't see the difference.
