    Hi,
Would it be possible to add an audible notification for when you are near/have reached a via point? I know there is information shown on the screen but if you're not looking at the screen you can go past your via point without noticing and miss it. Your route then goes on to the next via point without any notification. It doesn't necessarily need to be a spoken noticiation (although that would be good), even some kind of beep or alert sound would be fine.

@Gordon-Lawson, The option is already in the audio settings:

I choose "All" here, but only VIA is also possible.

I am just an enthusiastic MRA user, and hope you will be one too!

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebar to the saddle.

@Gordon-Lawson be aware that even though you select "All" mra may not always announce all points
I am not sure of the cause / reason it does not always work but it has something to do with mra being busy calculating or making other announcements
I wish this feature worked better, it's frustrating not knowing if a point will or will not be announced, it seems very random
My tip would be not to put any point you wish to be announced anywhere near a junction & reduce the number of "voice prompts per instruction"
I suspect the number of "voice prompts per instruction" are set at predetermined distances from junctions & if your point is within this zone, depending on your speed, there may or may not be time to announce the point

        BlackView BV7100, Android 12
Navigate "Routes as Tracks" in Offline mode with Offline Maps
No Wifi, no internet, no interruptions, works well

@Brian-McG, I think you are confused. As far as I know waypoint announcements are always okay. It is the route-instructions that are sometimes missed when waypoints are too close to junctions. Probably because the waypoint announcements take precedent.

@Gordon-Lawson My solution to your problem works very well. Add a waypoint 500m before your via point and re-name it something like "Cafe coming up on the left". This will then be read out to you and you won't shoot past your via point. Do not write "Cafe coming up in 500 metres" because numbers won't be read out.

@Stephen-Rowland, shaping points are announced 750 before you reach them as it is, no need to place it 500mtr in advance. For Via points thats 2000 mtrs. I usually name the waypoint "Café WhateverTheName" and put "coming up at 500mtr. If you skip this one, the next one is in about half an hour." in the note field. This one get's read too, and numbers are no problem.

My experience is that shaping/via points may or may not be announced, the reason why some do or do not eludes me as I have been unable to observe a pattern.
I can guarantee you 1000% that point announcements are lost on both installs of MRA on my OnePlus 8T & Blackview 7100.
I normally run MRA with updated maps in offline mode with the phones set to flight mode & no other apps running to conserve battery.
Voice prompts are always enabled as I like to keep my head up & eyes on the road & use the announcements as a nudge to check the route on the app display.

Your post is the first time I have seen information about distances associated with when & where points will be announced.
My suspicion is that something like fixed trigger distances can result in a clash of demands within mra e.g. if I am at a junction 2001m before a via point & mra is busy giving me instructions about that junction, the via point announcement for 2000m ahead is lost.

Can be both. Both can be set to be announced independently.

i thought the text-to-speach was read when passing the preceding (shape or via} waypoint, and has nothing to do with distances !?

That's incorrect. The announcement takes place 750mtrs for shapingpoints and 2000mtrs for viapoints. An exception is made if there is an upcoming waypoint preceding the one with the announcement. In that case the announcement is spoken when the preceding waypoint is passed. This way you are able to shorten the distance to the announcement.
