@Bruno-Marinier If you are using Linux you don't need a connector for Garmin Devices. For pre XT units (I have a Zumo 340 and 390) connect the unit to your linux machine via usb. The unit (and the sd card if you have one) mount as mass storage and you can download the route(s) you want to use and transfer them directly. For my XT i download routes onto my phone and transfer them via Garmin Drive.Screenshot at 2024-05-15 11-29-18.png

@Mzokk I was able to do that with my Navigator VI.

Step 1: "Save as", which downloads a gpx file to the Downloads folder
Step 2: Copy the gpx file to the GPX folder on the unit.

I was thinking that with the connector I could do this in one step instead of two. I'm very lazy 😉

@Bruno-Marinier, if you download directly to the GPX folder, you don't even need to copy. That's probably less steps then with the connector... And it's certainly a more Linux-like method 😉

Is there a Linux version for Garmin Express? I happen to know that geocaching.com uses a method to engage Garmin Express for transferring GPX files to the device. Maybe that's something for the devs to explore. I think when the website gets its planned overhaul, the connectors probably will be renewed also.

I am just an enthusiastic MRA user, and hope you will be one too!

@Con-Hennekens said in Connector for Linux?:

if you download directly to the GPX folder, you don't even need to copy.

The "Save as" option does not have folder selection. It simply downloads to my browser's download directory.

No big deal. I can live with the extra step!
