Display position lags actual position

Reporting on performance:
I planned and rode a circle route last Sunday, July 23.
My Android phone has version 4.02 -203 installed. Overall, the app worked very well.I experienced slowness though, that I've seen others report. At times the arrow showing my position on teh map lagged my actual position in real time by several seconds. The latency was significant enough that I a couple of turns because it didn't look like I had come to the turn when I had already rode past it. (I was in the countryside and some intersections lack street signs which makes the delay more of an issue.)
The good news is that, in both cases, the app rerouted smoothly and no harm was done. I do find that the delay reduces my situational awareness on the motorcycle, though, because I'm more focused on the screen than I should be.
Thanks,
Vinnie

Bin gerade in Wales und habe das gleiche Problem!

@Vincent-Curren
Vinnie.Try running another GPS app in the background.
I was advised to do this and I found that it did reduce the vehicle icon lag considerably.
If you want to give it a try, I use Speedometer by Simple Design Ltd. It's free to use with minimal ads and it did the trick for me.

@dungbeetle
Hi Dungbeetle, a 2nd GPS app in the background reduces the lag BUT does not remoeve it completely. My position arrow remains constantly 30 - 40 meters behind the actual position also when I have other GPS apps running in the background - that is quite annoying -
@Adam-Sobanski
Hmm, not that bad for me.It was only that bad before I ran another app in the background.
I can only suggest trying the app I mentioned above, just in case it does a better job.
-
@dungbeetle waw that works! Shame though that 8 months on this is still an issue... Same with battery drain...

I used the app for a three-day trip I planned, totaling 1490 kilometers. While there is no better program with so many features that we all know both in route planning online and during navigation, it's really annoying how much it delays showing your actual position. Overall, the app has stability issues. The developers seriously need to address these two problems first before anything else.
Otherwise, I think I won't be alone in canceling my subscription. I use two other programs, OsmAnd+ and MapFactor Navigator, and they work perfectly regarding the aforementioned two problems. -

Dear Georgios, please read this thread: https://forum.myrouteapp.com/topic/6677/position-delay-lag-quick-fix-which-app-works-which-do-not/18
Have you already tried running another gps app simultaneously with the MRA app? For me running Flitsmeister or Waze in tandem with MRA, almost completely solve the delay.
Please also post your phone data in that thread. Thank you.

"I tried it today and it almost solved the problem, but why should all this be necessary, and just not work perfectly and smoothly? The enemy of good is the best."
My mobile phone is the Ulefone Armor X12 Pro, and I didn't have any issues with any GPS program, and I've tried almost all of them. -

Who said that this should be necessary and that this issue is accepted? It is not!
On the contrary, this issue is on priority 2 of the issues the Dev's are in contact with HERE about. Priority 1 is the battery issue... So these two are at the utmost priority of the MRA dev team, but the root cause of both these issues lie with HERE(!), the SDK and map provider.Running another GPS app in tandem with MRA is only a temporary fix for a issue that shall be solved in the near future, it just depends on the pace at which HERE is finding out how to solve it, until then, a temporary fix is applicable.
*PS I urge you to read back on the forum history from the moment on the BETA project started;) Many of these persistent bugs were already identified from the getgo.

"I don't want to disagree either, and I truly believe it's the perfect navigation application. I've recommended it to my friends and acquaintances. I didn't know this was a problem with Here and not yours. From now on, I'll wait for it to be resolved and will continue to use it. However, the link you provided below doesn't open for me: https://forum.myrouteapp.com/topic/6677/position-delay-lag-quick-fix-which-app-works-which-do-not/18"

@GEORGIOS-PANTELIDIS-0 now it does
-
@Corjan-Meijerink Ah, I started the topic in the beta section... I see you fixed it.

Haha that are credits I don't deserve. I'm a simple user just as you are, but only a bit more informed, but hey, that's the sole purpose of this forum! Sharing and caring, right!?
