      BarButtons do a good job.
Having used them for 6 months, I think the only minor 'weakness' is the 4 left/right/up/down buttons rather than a joystick, which makes the controller a little wide for reach - the rightmost button, for example.

Then I went to look at the price of waterproof joysticks, and I understood the design decision. Ouch!

In terms of controlling MRA, they do most 'on-the-ride' functions you'll need - zoom in/out, skip waypoints, pull up the menu and act on the items, etc.

@Michael-Doherty-0 we support the ones as listed in the app perfectly.

Carpe Iter support is coming soon.

We won’t create our own device in the near future 😞

            Slightly related:
If you're in the UK and you have Bennetts insurance (a lot of UK bikers use them) you can get 10% off Carpe Iter here:
            https://rewards.bennetts.co.uk/rewards/carpe-iter-navigation-voucher-discount-code

There's also a good review on that page for any potential purchasers.

(And no - I'm not paid by Bennetts or Carpe - just trying to help!)

I bought the Carpe Iter Adventure Controller based on the Bennetts Review by John Millbank.
Unfortunately, it did not fit on the 1200 Triumph Tiger Rally Pro handlebars. Thats on me for not looking into it more (I'll come back to this later).

So I went with the Remotek One purchased from Thork Racing.
This device is very minimal and simplistic.
Zooms in and out, pans N, E, S and W.
A double tap on W brings the cursor back in focus and navigating.
Uses a CR4250 battery so no battery hook up required.

              Snapshot 11-01-2024 18_51.jpg

After 18 years of being a data monkey for a large group of 4 colleges its time for a career change and a shorter working week.

IAM's here I come and hopefully if I get through that I can work 3 days a week as a Motorcycle Instructor.

So i'm not keen on using the 1200 Tiger Rally Pro for instructing if I make the grade?
Strangely, I am steering towards a 2020 Second Hand Yamaha Tenere. (The Carpe Iter will definately snuggly on that.)

Feel free to suggest or berate any second hand bikes you've had.

That's a nice alternative, the lack of wires would be appreciated by many. It would be great if you could post your battery life experiences after a few months of use.

                You'll make the grade!

You probably already know 90% of what you need to do - you just need to do it consistently. And that comes with practice. There's no substitute for miles.

I'm not sure why you wouldn't use a Rally Pro. The type of bike doesn't really make any difference to giving instruction.
As long as the bike is reliable, and does 70mph with ease that's all you need.

Yes I will keep an eye on the battery life of the device.
Remotek suggest that it will last a full season’s riding (whatever that means).
The device automatically turns itself off after a certain period of time if no buttons are pressed.

Nick, does the SilverFox give access to all the MyRoute-App Navigation settings or is it just Pan and Zoom type functionality?

@Lynchy67 To be honest, I haven't used it for a while so I've forgotten 😁 . It is definitely able to do more than pan and zoom. I think it does most controls once the route is open. @Corjan-Meijerink will know.
